In the great beyond or the infinite cosmos, a soul finds itself floating in darkness. The spirit that reincarnated many of the kobolds appears before the spirit.
Spirit: Hello Mr. Hue. Upon consideration of God himself you are one of extremely few souls allowed out of Hell and given another chance. You should be grateful.
Mr. Hue: ...
Spirit: You did many horrible things in your life, but you at your core a misguided and possibly even kind.
Mr. Hue: ...
Spirit: ...
Mr. Hue: ...
Spirit: Um... Mr. Hue? Are you even listening to me? Please respond...
Mr. Hue blinking: ...
Spirit: Oh, I nearly forgot. They ripped off your tongue when you died and they ripped off your spiritual tongue in Hell.
Mr. Hue nodding: ...
Spirit: I of course will not allow you to return to your world. I will reincarnate you into another world. You will live out your days as a kobold.
Mr. Hue: ...
Spirit: You remember killing many of them back at your world? Mr. Hue, due to your crimes you will not be selecting your traits although you can't because of your tongue. You will be a genderfluid scaly kobold. Your class will be be cleric and artificer.
Mr. Hue: ...
Spirit: You want to be reincarnated as a fox? Sorry but the terms are already in place. oh and unlike other spirits who have been reincarnated you will only have parts of your memories. You will always feel the sense that you need to make up for your crimes. Press start.
A ghostly start button appears in front of Mr. Hue who quickly presses the location where a exit button would be found in a game.
Spirit: Can you not? Look Mr. Hue, I know you want to go back to Hell to atone for your sins but this is it. If you die again and you haven't changed then you will burn forever more.
Mr. Hue nods and presses start.
Mr. Hue was born into a kobold family that was spared being slain by humans and in return were devoted to worshiping their God. Mr. Hue's new name is Niko. At times his family worries that their child is possessed, as Niko never cried once and hardly ever talked. Niko was only really cared about his/her parents after they died of illness. Niko swears that for now on he/she will love them and honor them. Niko is the executioner of the church as he/she has no problem with killing. Niko heard a rumor that the prized artifact of the upcoming event had the power to rewrite history or possibly bring back the dead. Niko knew she/he had to win that prize no matter what.

System: Event: Oneshot begins now.
The sun goes out and the lightbulbs in everyone's hand starts glowing brightly and warmly.
Coal: yeah... This is going to be tough. the lightbulbs are so fragile that they only have 1 hp and will break if we even put it in our bags.
Eric: This isn't about winning. It's about having fun.
Ruby: But you know... It would be NICE if we did win. Just saying.
Foxbold: This isn't the way Oneshot was supposed to be played...
DDDeekin: You and Deekin both. The main character Niko was supposing special and lonely and had help from an outside source. What outside source is at play?
Shawn: Perhaps this Oneshot event is supposed to represent Niko's struggles and adventure.
System: three players have reached the tower. first destroys the sun. He is disqualified. Second person places the sun back. cheat engine was used, user is banned. Third person used exploits and is disqualified.
Ishi: People are already reaching the top. Lets go!
The group sets off. They talk to event NPCs and followed the plot of Oneshot. After three days they reach the tower. Many others have made it before them to the top yet none of them have cleared the event. The group finds out that the first challenge is a raid boss that respawns every time a new group enters. The boss is a three headed dragon.
DDDeekin: That was in no shape or form part of the game before!
The group before them was completely wiped out and their lightbulb/suns where destroyed.
Ruby: Well guys... It was nice knowing you....
The group gets into formation. Foxbold in his haste trips and breaks the lightbulb. The creature is sent into a frenzy. It seems like it's sole attention was Foxbold
Foxbold: Oh come on.... I'm just a low leveled kobold...Go on ahead guys. I'll keep this one distracted.
Coal: Let's not waste any time.
They group finds a set of stairs that they start climbing. On the next floor they find black tendrils coming up from a red and black goo covering the floor and walls. Coal bravely touched the goo with a foot and her health quickly goes down from poison.
Coal: Yikes... No good...There is no way up...
Ruby touches it and her health goes down far slower.
Ruby: I'll help you reach the next set of stairs. I have enough health to outlast this.
DDDeekin: Are you alright?!
Ruby: Calm down. I have poison resistance. I can carry about two of you at a time. Don't argue just go get that prize.
Ruby did as she said. She brought them over two at a time. Just as Ruby was going to go with the group a creature forms from the goo. She stays behind to face it alone. The next floor has three path ways.
DDDeekin: This is where we would need a guide for the many paths we are going to take. If we choose the wrong path we start all the way back to this room.
Shawn: The air is poison here too. We do not have time to figure out which path is the right one. Coal... I am sorry to ask this... but....
Coal: You want my help for a spell. I'm right aren't I?
Shawn: Yeah. blood maze line.
Coal: Well. That's going to cost a lot. We don't have anything of that value to cast it.
Shawn: The light bulbs. It will be enough. It will disqualify us as it consumes it for the spell cost but it helps them.
Ishi: Come on! we should find another way!
Eric: I don't like this either...
Coal: We will meet you outside.
System: Hello, Eric and friends. We meet again. You won't remember me. But I'm here to help.
Eric: Huh?
DDDeekin: This is just what we need! This is the outside help just like in the game! The World Machine!
System: Correct. I am quite literally that. I am however not part of the event. I am the creator of it. This is Shawn's trial. Only Shawn may advance to the top of the tower.
Shawn: I won't. I'm not going to the top if it isn't with my friend.
System: And you agree with him Eric?
Eric: Yes. Who are you?
System: I am FRCAI. You may call me System FARCRY.
DDDeekin: Let us through!
FARCRY AI: If you do you will do it without my aid.
Coal: Just go Shawn. We will be cheering you on.
Shawn: I'm not going alone...
Ishi: We are here to have a fun time and just because you get a free trip up doesn't me we are just giving up. Go ahead. We will be up there shortly.
Shawn nods and starts going through paths. Shawn reaches the top and a figure who also is holding up a lightbulb
Shawn: Oh well... Looks like I was too late anyway. Guess I'll go back-
Niko: You can't.
Shawn: huh? Aren't you going to finish the event?
Niko: I will. I have all the time in the world. smash your lightbulb. Do it and you can go back to your friends.
Shawn: I don't want to fight.
Niko: I have a mother and father who died. This artifact can bring them back. I am not allowed to complete the event myself. Do you know how agonizing that is?
Shawn: What you are doing is spawn camping. You want your parents back? Then have my lightbulb. I know a curse when I see one. You can complete the event then right?
Niko: And I should trust you deceptive kobolds because?
Shawn: Honor amongst Kobolds.
Shawn tosses his event item to Niko.
Niko: I have no reason to keep you alive.
Shawn: You won't be able to leave this tower once you complete the event right?
Niko: Yeah? I don't need to.
Shawn: Then I will stay up here in your place. My friends will understand my decision and accept you.
Niko: You would do that? You know that you will stay up here forever right?
Shawn: I'm not an idiot. I have lived a good life. I can tell by your scowl that you haven't got a friend.
Niko: You will be the first I don't kill in this tower.
Niko presses Shawn's lightbulb to the pillar and Shawn disappears from the tower as the event ended. Niko to her surprise also disappeared. The two of them reappear at the bottom of the fading tower next to the rest of Eric's group. Niko sees her parents faces in her memories and realized that she was dishonoring them with her actions.
Foxbold: I see... We didn't win.
Eric: I do not know what is going on but hello!
Niko: Hello. I'm Niko.
DDDeekin: HUH?! There is a NIKO?! EEEE!!!
Niko: eeee?
Coal: Don't mind him. He is just being perverted.
Niko: Hello... I too do not know what is going on.
DDDeekin: Do you want to come with us? We are just going to have dinner!
Niko: um... I'm a complete stranger and I just meet you all.
Eric: Then lets get to know each other.
DDDeekin: Yes! Deekin will sing a song for the new lady who will be joining us!
Niko: I'm not a girl or a boy.
Everyone: Huh?
Niko: I can switch between genders.
DDDeekin: That makes it a bit more difficult to include you into the song... But Deekin will try!
Niko: You all are a strange bunch...
Eric: I guess we are. So what class are you?
Niko: Cleric.
Shawn: You must be one scarily powerful cleric...
Ishi: Where is the artifact?
Niko: huh? I guess I have it. I'm still cursed so I can't use it. You can have it Shawn.
Niko holds out a black box which Shawn takes. The moment Shawn touches the black box it transforms into a thorny crown.
Ishi: whoa.
Ruby: I had this planned out from the start that I would get it! Looks like I'm the fool to tell you guys about this event!
Coal: What's this sudden desire for an artifact? What would you even do with it?
Ruby: Just to have one! um... HEY that was a unfair question!
Shawn: Each artifact has a great amount of power but also its downsides.
Coal: Huh? I didn't know that.
Foxbold: Now that we have eight members we can start a guild!
Niko: Um... I think you forgot I still haven't... joined. Never mind. Nice to be part of something new.
