Merlin and I run to Arthur's chambers.
Merlin opens the door and peeks his head through. "Arthur? Arthur!"
There was no answer. We walk into Vivian's room and see her and Arthur kissing on her bed. I stand there in shock... Maybe he didn't care about me anymore.
"Abuge aglaecraeft!" Merlin says
Nothing happens.
"Abuge aglaecraeft!" He says again, "Abuge aglaecraeft!"
Suddenly Olaf burst into the room with Uther behind him. Merlin and I step out of the way.
"I knew it!" Olaf shouts.
"I don't believe it," Merlin says so no one would suspect us.
"Father, we've got something to tell you," Vivian says.
"Arthur!" Uther says in shock.
Olaf throws his glove on the floor in front of Arthur.
"Father," Vivian says, rolling her eyes.
"You once said that if you truly offended my honour, then you would happily pay the price. What say you now, Prince Arthur?" Olaf says.
Arthur stands up. "How have I offended your honour? Surely not with my love alone." Arthur holds his hand out to her; she grabs it and stands next to her.
"Love?" Olaf spits.
He took the words right out of my mouth.
"You don't know the first thing about love. Your taking advantage of an innocent girl." Olaf says.
"Father..." Vivian giggled.
"Arthur!" Uther snaps.
"I assure you my feelings for your daughter are as real as they are strong." Arthur states.
"Unhand her, or suffer the consequences," Olaf says. "Is this really worth risking your life for?"
Arthur grabs Vivian's hand and puts it to his chest.
Vivian looks at him. "Arthur?"
"Indeed, it is. I would rather die than deny my feelings. I love your daughter with all my heart." He looks at her, and they kiss again.
I feel Merlin grab my hand. Arthur bends down and picks up the glove.
The next day I was standing in Arthur's chambers with Merlin, much to my dismay. Merlin had dragged me here.
Uther walks in. "It's no good. I've spoken to Olaf. He won't rescind the challenge. He says his honour has been tainted. He demands recompense."
Arthur walks to Uther. "You didn't have to do that, father."
"The fight is to the death. What did you think you were doing?" Uther asks.
"You cannot help who you fall in love with," Arthur replies.
"You do realise that your actions threaten the peace talks, and it may yet bring war to Camelot," Uther says
Arthur nods. "I am happy to fight for what I believe in."
Uther turns to us, "What's happened to him?"
Merlin and I shrug.
"Lady Vivian. Nothing more." Arthur says.
Uther looks back at him.
"And yet, who could wish for more?" Arthur asks
Uther looks at us. He puts his hands up and walks out the door. Arthur jumps onto his bed.
"Merlin, I'm going to go. It's just... to hard." I say
Merlin nods, and I walk out the door.
I was walking down the passageway when Jules grabs me.
"I heard what happened. Are you okay?"
I shake my head. "Not in the slightest."
She pulls me into a hug. "I'm sorry. I knew he was a prat. But I didn't know he was a pompous, arrogant ass."
I chuckle at Jules. "Thank you."
"For?"
"Making me feel better." I say, "I'm happy your back."
We continue down the passage arm in arm. Arthur comes around the corner.
"Ah, Olivia, Juliana. You will wish me luck?"
"Will we?" I ask, walking past him.
"Haven't you heard?" Arthur asks
Jules and I stop and look at him.
"Oh, yes, I've heard. I was there when everything happened. I wish you would've been more honest, Arthur," I say.
I pull Jules, and we continue walking away.
"Are you going to go to the Tourney?" Jules asks
"Yeah, there is no way I'm going to watch Arthur fight for someone he loves. I thought he still cared about me, especially after he sent me the note and the flowers."
"Note and flowers?"
"Come on."
We walk back to Gaius chambers Merlin and Gauis were talking. They stop as soon as we walk in.
"Don't mind us as you were. We were going upstairs," I say.
Jules and I walk past them and up to my room. I pass the note and gesture to the flowers.
"These are them," I say.
She reads the note. "Are you serious? He sends you this, then kisses another woman? That is not okay. I'm gonna give this guy a piece of my mind."
"No, it's not worth it. Let's hang out like we used to, for old times sake." I say.
"That's a great idea, and I think you really need it today."
"No kidding," I chuckle.
"Come here," Jules calls.
I walk over to her. She pulls a chair out.
"I'm doing your hair." She pushes me onto the chair.
She starts doing my hair.
"Have you heard from Lancelot?" I ask
"No, not since he left." Jules sighs.
"Oh, I'm sorry," I say
"Well, it's better than seeing the person you care about talk about loving someone else," I say
"Fair enough, I can imagine that was hard," Jules replies. "Done"
I grab a mirror and look at my hair. "Wow, beautiful. Thank you, Jules."
I sit down on my bed, and Jules walks to my closet.
"Let's see what dresses you have," Jules says.
"I thought we were having a girls day. Not a makeover." I say.
"Well, a girls day counts as a makeover." Jules states.
I laugh at her. "You are full of it. You know that."
"You love me for it, though", Jules replies.
"True." I laugh.
She starts looking through my cupboard.
"You have some really nice dresses. Why have I never seen these?"
"Oh, I don't know; you've been missing for a couple of years," I say.
"Right, I forgot about that."
"Why did Lancelot leave? Surely you would've gone with if he asked you."
"Yeah, I would have. That's why he left; he knew I would be just as happy with you."
She grabs a dress from my cupboard. "This one is beautiful."
"Okay, what is your point?" I ask
She rolls her eyes. "Do I have to tell you everything? Put the dress on."
"Oh," I giggle, get up and walk over to her. I grab the dress and put it on.
"There, beautiful as always." Jules smiles.
I walk forward and hug her. We sit down on the bed and talk about what we were doing when we were away from each other.
