Zoey

I ain't heard from Savannah in almost a month now. Every time I go over her house, her dad tells me to leave and Regina backs him up. I just want to see her to sincerely apologize about what I did. It was a dumb and I don't even know what I was thinking. I miss her, honestly. I miss the sweet smell of her perfume, her soft skin, and the way her body fit perfectly in my arms. Her warm smile, and his caring she was. I just miss her whole entire being altogether.

I sat in the living room of my boy, Tevin's living room. The freestyle I had just recorded played loudly throughout the house while we passed a blunt back and forth between in each other. The room was hazy, though no matter how much I smoked, I couldn't get my mind off of her. I felt shitty for what I had done. The look of hurt on her face has been burned image on my brain. Tevin hit my leg, basically growing frustrated that I hadn't passed the blunt yet.

"Damn nigga." He grumbled. "Needed a hit that bad?"

"Hell yeah." I sighed. "I got a lot on my mind man."

"Well get the shit off ya chest man." He rested back against the sofa.

"First off--." I started.

The apartment door flew open and Kyla walked in with her screaming daughter on her hip. I rolled my eyes and Tevin shook his head. Somehow, him and Kyla were still together. It's so shocking because they both were cheating on each other. I thought they were done a year ago after Savannah let it out that Tevin was cheating on her. Obviously, I thought wrong. Kyla sat the baby on the floor and she crawled over to Tevin.

"Why wasn't there any money on the fucking card Tevin!?" She shouted. "I couldn't even buy Kadence any diapers."

I looked down at my feet, scratching the back of my head. I knew the exact reason there was no money on the card anymore. Tevin had took most of it out last night to go to the strip club. Kyla stood in front of him with her folded across her chest waiting for an answer. After awhile, Tevin looked up at her with a confessing look on his face. Kyla rolled her eyes, grabbed Kadence and went on to the back. Almost a few seconds later, Bre, Savannah's friend and Tevin's new side piece came in. Tevin huffed and stood up.

"I should've never gave you a fucking key." He said angrily. "If Kyla saw you in here, she'd fucking kill me!"

"Fuck her." Bre huffed. "I didn't even come to see you, I knew he would be here and I need to talk to him." She pointed to me.

"The fuck I do?" I raised an eyebrow.

"First off, you broke my friends heart." She rolled her eyes. "Jackass."

"Man, you don't even know what happened." I sucked my teeth.

"Oh I do know." She snapped. "You stick your little penis in your ex and Savannah caught you."

"Damn nigga." Tevin looked over at me. "You ain't tell me she walked in on y'all."

"Shut up." Bre hit the back of his head. "Anyways, like I said, you really are a jackass. Savannah really loved you."

"And I love her too." I put my head in my hands. "I'm just.. confused right now."

"You fucked up big time." Bre shook her head. "She's really hurt and I'll doubt she'll ever want to talk to you again, honestly."

"Ima keep trying anyway." I shrugged.

She rolled her eyes and her Tevin stepped outside. I sat back against the sofa and pulled my phone out of my pocket. I scrolled down my call log and finally found her name. I faintly smiled at the picture of her asleep on my chest that was set as her contact picture. I hit the number and listened to it ring and ring, and ring. Finally, it went to voice-mail.

I called 5 more times.

Still straight to voice-mail.

Savannah

I laid in Travis's lap, the peaceful sound of rain filling the quiet apartment. He ran his fingers through my hair and softly rubbed my belly. A month had passed by, and I was on the ride of my life. My modeling was taking off, and my relationship with Travis was growing. Now that my baby bump was growing and was sort of noticeable, most of my photo shoots were close up. I sat up some and fully slid into his lap, laying on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and kept rubbing my belly.

"You starting to get big. Sure it ain't two in there?" He joked.

"Don't even." I playfully rolled my eyes. "It's one little princess in there."

"Princess?" He raised an eyebrow. "You don't know that for sure yet."

"Yes I dooo." I said in a sing-song voice. "Regina told me when she was pregnant with Sarah, she craved nothing but strawberry ice cream, and sugar cookies. And she said when you're pregnant with a boy, your nose kind of gets big. My nose is still the same. Therefore, I know it's a girl."

"Alright now." He held his hands up. "In a couple months when you go find out and it's a lil boy up in there don't be disappointed."

"Oh I won't." I shrugged. "It doesn't matter to me. As long as I have a healthy, strong baby, nothing else matters."

"I see." He licked his lips. "Your and your Pops talked since you left?"

"No." I sighed. "I haven't talked to him since the day he put me out, I ask to speak to him whenever Regina calls but, he never takes the phone nor will he let me talk to Sarah."

"He keeping your sister from you?" He shook his head. "That's real fucked up."

"I know, but it's okay." I shrugged. "Regina told me she's arranging for her and Sarah to fly down here in a couple of months when I find out what I'm having."

"That's cool."

He put his face closer to mine and softly pecked my lips. We had gotten to know each other so much over the month. He made me smile all the time, and I could talk to him about anything. I told him everything about me, all of my past included. He told me about himself too but, not much about his childhood. It was sort of a sore topic for him. I wanted to know though. I mean, it was only fair. He knew about all the things I went through as a child but, I didn't know a thing about his.

I sat up in his lap and played with the hair on his chin. He ran his fingers through my hair and I sighed deeply.

"Travis.." I called out quietly.

"Yeah?" He looked down at me.

"How come you never talk about your childhood?" I asked.

"Savannah, I don't wanna talk about this." He shook his head. "I gotta get to the studio anyway. I got a line of people waiting to start recording."

"They can wait." I shrugged. "There are plenty of other engineers in that studio for them to work with."

"No, I've been here with you all day, I gotta go or I'm not making any money for today."

"Is being with me all day a problem for you?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Savannah you know I ain't mean it like that." He sighed. "I just need to get back to my job, that's it."

"I just want to know more about you Travis." I sat up some. "Just sit here for 5 more minutes and tell me something deeper. You know about the deepest parts of my life, but I don't know a thing about yours."

"Fine Savannah, fine." He held his hands up surrendering and sat back down. "I was born and raised in Harlem. My parents, weren't parents at all. They didn't give a damn about me. All they could care about was drinking and snorting cocaine. I was just another reminder of how fucked up their life was. My momma showed a little sympathy to me though, whenever she was coming down from a high, she would love on me, then get high again. As much as I wanted to hate her guts, to this day I make sure she got heat in her building, food on her table, and clothes on her back."

"W-Wow.." I responded in shock. "What about your dad? Do you still talk to him?"

"Died when I was 19." He looked down at the floor. "Him and my uncle actually introduced me into the music business. I remember playing with my cars and other shit while watching them make music. My uncle was the voice and my pops was the magic behind the voice. He may have been high off cocaine but, he cut some good music in our broke down garage. My uncle brought the equipment and my pops put it to work. He taught me everything I knew. He was and still is a person that made my life a living hell but, he taught me to do what I love now."

I stared at him in disbelief. Never could I have imagined his childhood being so, harsh and cold. I at least had one parent, but he barely had two. My mother was supportive of me, and his was too high to even know who he was. I could tell by the saddened look in his face and posture, he was about to break down. I got off of the sofa and rushed over to him as he fell to the floor in tears. I sat down on the floor next to him and held him in my arms, allowing him to cry into my shirt.

He was there for me during my rough moments, and I was going to be there for him...
