"Very well! Almost everything is ready. All that remains is to prepare the table." Jin had already finished putting the food in their respective containers. Then he had picked up the glasses and drinks.

Namjoon had already set off to set the table and place all the food on it, so Yoongi came over to help him out with the rest. Once everything was ready, they sat down at the table and ate. For the first few minutes, you could only hear cutlery hitting the surface of the plate. But all that was replaced by the sounds of satisfaction from the boys after tasting the food.

"This is great, Hyung," Yoongi commented as he put a bite into his mouth, savouring it slowly and making a sound of satisfaction at something so delicious.

"As usual," Namjoon added as he lunged for another bite.

"I'm glad. It's good to know that I haven't lost my touch." Jin replied with a smirk as he watched his friends eat so eagerly. It was always a pleasure for him to see how much others enjoyed the taste of his food.

When they finished, they cleared the table. Namjoon was to wash the dishes while Yoongi dried them, and Jin put the leftovers in different airtight containers. After storing them in the fridge, he took out what was left of last night's cake and cut three slices, which he then placed on the coffee table. When the two rappers finally finished cleaning everything up, they met Jin in the living room, where they sat comfortably on the couches while sipping the cake.

Without further ado, Yoongi started telling them everything that had happened after he got home last night. He did not beat around the bush and did not omit any details. The pair remained silent, listening intently to Yoongi's account and nodding from time to time to show that they were paying attention and that they understood what he was saying. When he finished telling them what had happened to the shadows until they arrived, he remained silent, waiting for his friends to process all the information.

"So, are you telling me that this woman, who is part of the shadows, helped you?" Jin spoke after a few seconds in silence. Yoongi nodded his head. "But why? What exactly do you gain from it?"

"I have no idea, Hyung. But it was something personal, something that was more important than her job, in her words."

"This is crazy." The older ruled as he dropped against the back of the sofa, clearly still processing what happened.

"You're right, Hyung." Namjoon chimed in this time. "But the strangest thing of all is that they wanted to kill Hyung, I mean, what do they get out of it? Do they feed off your soul or something like that? And why did they choose you out of everyone on this planet?"

"She said I wasn't the only one ..."

"No, I don't mean that." The other rapper interrupted him. "I mean, why did that woman choose you. What makes you so special as to spare your life?"

"I don't know. All she told me is that if I was still alive, she might find what she had been looking for a long time. But I don't know if she was talking about an object or a person." Yoongi passed a hand over his face in a frustrated gesture. "Unless ..." Yoongi didn't finish the sentence, as he was trying to connect the information in his head.

"Unless?" Jin inquired at his lack of elaboration.

"Did you know that when you dream of a light, its colours represent your soul mate?" He had turned his head so fast that it startled the boys.

"That's just a myth, right?" Namjoon said, not very convinced.

"Well, it's not going to be. The light I've been dreaming of turns out to be the same colours as Jungkook's gem. And that's something that caught her attention."

After a few seconds, Namjoon widened his eyes and opened his mouth, then closed it. Beside him, Jin was looking at him with a frown, concerned for his partner.

"Are you telling me that Jungkook's gem, Jungkook himself, has been protecting you from the shadows all this time?"

"It appears to be, although I don't know if he was aware of it or not."

"God, this is getting weirder and weirder," Jin said as he massaged his temples.

"Hang on, Hyung, this is just the beginning." The older only whimpered.

"Maybe that's why you were something interesting to that woman, because of your connection to Jungkook," Namjoon added.

"Can be."

"Yes, but no, that doesn't clarify what exactly she's looking for." Jin intervened. "If it had something to do with Jungkook's gem, how could she get what she wants? She told you herself that shadows cannot get close to people who have found their soul mate, what good is it to keep you alive?"

"I don't know." He said sincerely. "But perhaps the shadows have some other way of finding out. If not, she wouldn't have let me live."

"But that doesn't make any sense," Jin repeated. "If Jungkook's gem has something to do with her search, it wouldn't matter if you died or not. If you were still alive, you and Jungkook would meet and she no longer could get close to you. Nor the shadows. And if you died, I wouldn't know who that light belonged to am I missing something?" The older one asked as he looked at his dongsaengs.

"No Hyung, that's what she told me," Yoongi replied with a tired sigh.

"Maybe ..." The two turned to look at Namjoon. "It may all make sense. If that woman is a shadow of a much higher rank than the ones who were hounding you, she may have the ability to get what she wants even though your gem has been connected. I don't know, maybe she's able to observe from a distance without being affected by it. Just with that, you could find what she's looking for."

"I would have to be a spy for her," Yoongi said, to which Namjoon nodded. "Well, she seemed to know quite a bit about gems. She kept saying that it was all about energy. You may be right and can find out what interests her without hurting us or yourself."

"Well, it is obvious that we don't know a quarter of what we should know about gems. So, I propose we change the subject. I'm glad nothing happened to you, but this is too confusing and we have too little information." Jin said, dismissing the matter.

Yoongi snorted. "Too confused? Wait and you'll see how confusing it all gets when I tell you what's missing."

"Ah, but is there more?" Yoongi nodded his head. Jin rolled his eyes.
