Chapter - 24

 And it was a shame, really, because when he woke up all he would remember is that he had dreamed of violet and gold-coloured light and that he felt safe while surrounded by it.

It had been two days since Yoongi was staying at Jin and Namjoon's house. Exactly two days without the presence of shadows in his daily life, except for his dreams. Not counting the first night, the shadows made it their mission to ruin his rest time, either at night or during the day when he was taking an impromptu nap.

But even if they tried to torment him in his dreams, he only stayed there, in an attempt. There was always something that scared them, that was stronger than all of them put together: a violet and gold light. At first, Yoongi didn't pay much attention to the fact that the shadows disappeared thanks to this strange light. He marvelled at its radiance. This light was not blinding, but it was not dim either, and it seemed to float around him, slowly expanding and then compacting again. Its movement reminded him of the waves of the sea, the way they approached the shore to vanish shortly after and return to the sea. It had a calming effect that Yoongi welcomed with open arms.

He had said none of this to Namjoon or Jin yet. Not that he wanted to hide things from them, but he preferred to keep it private as if it were a secret between him and that mysterious light. Of course, he knew this secret was going to last very little considering his friends had already noticed a change in him. They said he was more relaxed as if someone had lifted a weight off him, and it was true.

He was happy with how well Namjoon's plan had gone and he let him know as soon as he had the chance, just as they were leaving Yoongi's apartment after they had gone to pick up a few things and water the plant that Taehyung had given him. Seeing that the idea had been a success, Yoongi could not refuse when Jin offered to stay a few more days - a week - at least to make sure he made a full recovery before returning to his apartment.

The next morning, Yoongi awoke from his placid sleep because of the alarm on his cell phone. He had slept like a baby and was fully rested, but his desire to sleep was still there, so it was quite a feat that he could peel off the sheets. I wanted to keep dreaming of that two-coloured light.

After galloping through the bathroom to wash his face, he went to the kitchen where Namjoon was already sitting on one stool eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast while looking at something on his mobile. Yoongi said good morning to her as she started making coffee. Namjoon replied with a soft growl, showing that he was still not fully awake.

"And then they say that I am not a morning person. I see someone surpasses me." Yoongi commented amusedly while waiting for the coffee to be made.

"I hate Mondays," Namjoon said in a growl.

"Welcome to the club," Yoongi replied. "By the way, I have something to tell you." At this, Namjoon seemed to finish waking up and focused his eyes on Yoongi.

"Is it about the shadows? Do not tell me that..."

"No, it's not about that, don't worry." Yoongi rushed to calm the young man. "It's actually a pretty good thing. Weird, but in a good way. I'll tell you about it when we get off work."

Namjoon visibly relaxed on his stool and breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment he thought his plan had failed. He was about to say something else when the notification of a new message stopped him. He picked up the phone to see that it was a message that Jin had put in the group chat.

"Change of plans, Hyung," Namjoon said as he put down his cell phone. "This afternoon it's time to organize Jimin's birthday party. In the usual place and at the same time."

"It's okay," Yoongi replied before taking a sip of his coffee. "It is not something urgent, I can tell you when we return."

With the rest of the day planned, they only had to prepare, go to work and then go directly to the meeting place. They would probably pick up Jin first, so the three of them would go together and wait for the other three to arrive.
