Chapter - 73

It was Yoonseul.

She had news regarding the favour Jungkook had requested. And when she spoke of news, she didn't mean that she had found the right person, or that said person had agreed to whatever her friend's plan was. No. By novelties, she meant that she had the project fully finished, just waiting for Jungkook to give it the go-ahead.

The girl did not go into much detail. She simply told them that she had found the right person, someone whom the public held in high esteem, and whose story would blow everyone away, whether or not they knew her, and that it would cause a huge change in people's perception of gems. It had been very cryptic in that sense, but Jungkook knew that the answers to all his questions would be found in the file she had sent to his mail.

So without thinking twice, Jungkook picked up his laptop and went into his mail. Yoonseul had sent him a compressed file: a video. After adjusting the laptop on his lap so that Yoongi could comfortably see it, he hit play.

He didn't know exactly what he had expected when he asked his friend for help, probably anything, since it was Yoonseul. But what the girl had sent him far exceeded all his expectations.

Two women appeared in the video: one of them, Yoonseul, playing the role of interviewer, and the other, a young actress whose career was not one of the most prominent in the industry but was still quite appreciated by her colleagues. In addition, with her charisma and pleasant personality, she had the audience in her pocket, always showing a radiant smile in line with her bright personality. Despite constantly making a name for herself in the profession, her life had not always been so good.

It is at this point where the actress narrates her life before becoming an actress. From the hell she went through for many years, believing she was crazy, because she saw shadows, people, things, where there was nothing; she heard voices when no one was around her, and she constantly had nightmares.

"At one point, I stopped sleeping, because I knew that if I did, they would come for me. I didn't sleep for three days until my body couldn't take it anymore and I collapsed. I thought I was safe, you know since I had passed out, I wouldn't remember anything."

The girl smiled condescendingly, without humour, remembering bitter moments.

"But I was wrong. They came to me. They got into my head. It was as if... I was possessed by those shadows, and as terrible as the nightmare was, I could not wake up. I was at their mercy, and I couldn't do anything."

From there, the actress narrates the hell she went through as a victim of the shadows. Of how she was about to end her life, even without her wanting it, because of the control that the shadows had over her body and mind. After her brother saved her, she was forced to turn to professional help and to live with her family. For a while, things went well. I still had nightmares, but they weren't as scary or frequent. After her recovery, she returned home to her daily routine. However, she was once again a victim of the shadows, who had awaited her return to torture her again and destroy her house.

Without hesitation, the girl returned to her parents, who saw firsthand the hell their daughter had gone through. The actress turned to professional help again, hoping to regain control of her life. Her therapist turned out to be her soul mate, who gave her a new insight into gems, something that differed totally from what she had been taught since she was little.

"He was the one who helped me out of hell. He... He was talking to me about things that made little sense to me. He told me about gems, their true purpose... Did you know that even if someone is your soul mate, you don't have to marry and have children with that person? I never thought about that because they had always instilled in us that your soul mate was the person you would spend the rest of your life with, with whom you would start a family and all that kind of thing. But then I saw it with my own eyes. He introduced me to his two brothers, who were soul mates, each with his wife and children. That's when I realized the wrong concept we have of them."

Later, the actress told how the psychologist - her soulmate and current partner - had told her about a person who could help her. They ended up going to a gem store, where they explained the girl's problem to the guide. The guide was shocked by the story and assured her he would be in charge of purifying her gem and eliminating the shadows. In addition, the guide revealed that her synchronization process with her gem had not been correct, that it had been a mistake after another mistake by the guide who had assisted her. After her gem received purification, her life took a 180-degree turn. All that darkness that had surrounded her for so many years had vanished, like the shadows that had tortured her.

"I want you to know that you are not alone. If you are going through something the same or similar to what I went through, please seek help. But don't go to the same place where it all started. It is important that the person helping you really wants to do it. And most importantly: publicly denounce those places that should not be trusted to prevent other people from falling into the same hell."

The interview ends with both women wishing each other the best in their respective jobs. Yoonseul also adds a comment on an interesting website with access to all the information about the gems, and the books published by a famous gemologist and guide.

When the video ended, Jungkook closed the laptop and put it on the floor. Then he turned and held Yoongi in his arms, knowing how affected he must be by everything he had heard, reminding him of his own hell. Yoongi clung to him tightly, hiding his face in Jungkook's neck, breathing in the comforting and characteristic scent of flowers and nature emanating from Jungkook. Yoongi cried, but not from sadness, but because he felt identified with the actress, and then he continued crying, but from happiness, because the shadows could not reach him now that he had Jungkook by his side and that his gem was purified.
