The presentation ended with credits, in which we thanked all those who had taken part in the project, including entities such as libraries and museums, who had given exclusive content images only to a few.

When finished, the historian answered the questions of his companions. Jungkook tried to pay attention, he really did, but all he could hear was his mind telling him it was all a lie, that everything he had seen was ... Wrong. None of this had to do with what his mother told him. He had explained it was actually the same as what he said shouldn't be done.

It was twisted, playing like this with the feelings and hopes of others. Basically, they were told a fairy tale since they were children, never better said, so that later only a small percentage of the population could reach it. With each question his classmates asked, Jungkook felt more and more anxious, but not in a good way. He felt a tightness in the pit of his stomach, which spread throughout his body as if it were a black hole trying to consume itself. It was the same sensation that he felt when he ate something that did not suit him.

As the talk progressed, the focus shifted to the people telling their personal story. At this point Jungkook could not contain the grimaces that assaulted his face at what he heard, which was quite disrespectful, he knew, but he could not help it, and he gave thanks for being in the last rows where he went more unnoticed. These couples were not to blame for their discomfort. They had found their soul mate and were happy.

The problem is that right now they represented that cheerful story that they sold to everyone, and that was very far from reality. Jungkook was certain that this story was not the true one. He had heard no other version, not even from his mother, but his intuition told him he was correct. His companions were eager to know more details of his encounters, of his reactions, absorbing each response they received like a sponge. It was as if they were in a trance as if the only thing they could do was listen and record in their minds what they were told.

And that was, most likely, bringing these testimonies. You can watch a scary movie and not even blink because you know it is a movie, something fictional, written in a script. But if you have it in front of you, if you experience it, it becomes more real. You do not consider that they are deceiving you because you see it in front of you. They were being manipulated to believe their story, but why? What benefit can they get? For Jungkook there was no benefit in deceiving people like that, but for these people there was. Maybe even they weren't aware that they were being manipulated. It was a wide range of possibilities that Jungkook didn't want to contemplate right now.

"When my boyfriend and I met, we knew we would always be together." Jungkook wanted to vomit at that very moment but held back. He looked away, where the teachers were with the experts and some guides, hoping to find something to distract him.

"It was love at first sight." The girl had said, to which her companions sighed at the romantic nature of the situation. Of course, she would say that.

"I wish I could experience the same as you one day." Said one of his companions.

Jungkook suppressed the urge to roll his eyes, allowing him to see something he did not like. One man who was sitting with the teachers had a smile on his face, but he was not the same as the others. It was the typical lopsided smile that the bad guy had when the good guys fell into his trap or when the plans went his way. Jungkook fought back the chill that ran down his spine.

A round of applause brought him out of her intense scrutiny. All the couples had already spoken, so it only remained to go back to class. But at the last moment, the man Jungkook had been watching got up and took the stage.

The man was of medium height and muscular, with black hair and a charismatic and close smile that had little to do with the one Jungkook had seen.

"Hello everyone, my name is Kim Yuseok, and I am a guide. I will not give you any kind of speech, but I would be very grateful if you could complete a questionnaire. It is easy at all. These are only questions related to the connection with your gem. In this way, we want to follow up to make sure that our work is done properly. Thank you very much for your collaboration. " And with a slight bow, he came down from the stage and rejoined his colleagues."

The students left the room with their respective teachers. Once in class, Mrs Park handed them the two questionnaires and waited, sitting in her chair for them to finish. Jungkook preferred to complete the one related to the talk first and then the other.

Once the first one was completed, he looked at all the other's questions to get an idea of how honest he was going to be.

Apparently, he was going to have to lie yes or yes. The questions were not very general for a simple 'follow-up'. The questions ranged from the most general, such as your name, your type of gem, to the most precise, if you had seen or heard anything in the pond if you had been afraid.

Jungkook knew he had to lie, but he didn't know how far he could do it. He had no problem with questions related to the pond, he would tell the same thing that he told his father and brother. But the gem type gave him pause. Hana had said that both his identity and the type of gem he carried should be kept safe from prying eyes, but if he now wrote it down on paper and gave it to that guy, it would no longer be. And Jungkook didn't know if what they were looking for had to do with the gem or what happened in the pond.

Prevention is better than cure, so it would be best to lie about the gem he had. The ametrine gem was not as common as the diamond, ruby, or sapphire gem, so it was normal for even him to forget the name himself. It is not as if you were talking about your gem to everyone once you had it, nobody was interested in anything other than seeing if it sparkled or not. He ended up putting amethyst as his type of gem and, after checking that everything was correct, he got up to give the papers to Mrs Park.

Once delivered, he left class at a normal pace to, once out of high school, run like the devil's soul. He had to get home as soon as possible and tell his mother and Hana what had happened. It was about time they got serious about it and told their father and brother.

When he got home, the first thing he did was look for his mother, who was in the living room watching TV. Jungkook did not know how much this entire story had affected him until his mother got up and approached him. Her eyebrows meeting in a worried gesture. had replaced the smile that previously adorned his face

"Jungkook darling, what's wrong with you?" Her mother cupped her face in her hands and wiped away the tears that flowed from her eyes.

Her breathing was heavy, mostly because she had come running, and her lips were trembling with the urge to cry. He took a shaky breath before speaking. "I've seen him, mom. I think he's looking for me and I didn't-I didn't know what to do and I-I had to l-lie. I-I didn't know what to do."
