"I never knew you can drive, Pikachu. I didn't think your feet would reach the gas."

"I never knew you could be this annoying, Squeaky. I'm pretty sure I can kick you from here."

"Are we there yet?" Chenle asked. He was itching to get up and stretch from the long car ride. "I need to use the restroom."

"Is it my fault you didn't use it when we were at the stopover? Tell me? We told you it would be the last before we arrive at Sejeong's house."

"But I didn't need it then!" Chenle reasoned. "You understand, right Donghyuck?"

Donghyuck just nodded, his interest definitely somewhere else. He had been stuck between wanting to catch Doyoung and wanting to keep the relationships they had now.

It was his fault in the past.

His past memories as  a soldier in Seong's army didn't really faze him. The bloodbath and war he needed to fight didn't scare him, it was what he had done moments after the battle ended.

After Seong and Jeong passed away, it was time for the clean up in the city. He was assigned to help dispose of the remains of those who passed. He clearly saw Young's hands twitching that day yet he didn't say anything in fear.

In the end, he didn't say anything which resulted in Young's survival. He was able to manipulate memories, and later, history of how things happened. His motive was unknown which scared Donghyuck even more.

Doyoung ruthlessly used Felix as a pawn, but decided to withdraw from anymore activities in this life.

"Asshat." Sejeong called, throwing a marshmallow at him. "I thought your brain was only for decoration. What's got you using it?"

"Thinking of how I can expose you to mama Heeyul." Donghyuck mumbled. "And don't throw your food."

"That fell on the floor earlier." Jeno piped in.

"An eye for an eye Hyuckie. I'll expose you to mama Soyul." Sejeong rebuked, leaning back in her seat. She noticed Jisung's grim look and took his hand into hers. "You okay?"

"I'm just a little nervous. This is the first time I'll be meeting your mom and I'm afraid I might mess up." Jisung answered. "My hands are sweaty. Are you sure you want to hold them?"

"Don't worry. My mom is chill most of the time. She'll love you."  Sejeong assured. "Sweaty or not, it's still your hand."

"The concept of a mother liking me feels foreign." Jisung murmured loud enough for only him to hear.

He spent a whole day looking for the perfect gift to give. He probably spent an hour or so choosing what to pack and what to wear. He rehearsed basic conversations in hopes of not being awkward.

He didn't want to mess up. He needed to earn her mom's trust.

They arrived 10 minutes later to the small home. It was a warm feeling for Sejeong to finally have proper friends to introduce to her mother.

Sejeong hurriedly got off to meet her mother while the boys unloaded their things from the van. Before she could knock, the door slammed open to reveal her giddy mother.

"Sejie! It's been forever!" Heeyul squealed, pulling Sejeong into a bone crushing hug. "Did you get any battle scars? Let me see."

"I was literally here for Christmas, mom. And no, Jaemin healed all my scars." Sejeong  mumbled, pulling away from the hug.

"Yeah, doesn't make a difference." Heeyul said. She looked over at the boys gathered together. "Hyuckie who said you could come?"

Donghyuck rolled his eyes. "I love you too, Mama Heeyul."

"Guys, this is my mom obviously." Sejeong introduced. The boys bowed politely while Donghyuck just walked in to go and greet his own mother. "Mom these are the idiots.

"Just call me auntie." Her mother added. "Come in. Soyul and I just finished cooking a late lunch for you guys."

🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮

Their meal was quite rowdy. Jokes and threats flew everywhere along with interesting childhood stories. Jisung was too nervous to laugh along or say anything in general. Sejeong on the other hand was worried he might get an upset stomach with how nervous he was.

"Did you guys like the meal? It wasn't much, but I hope you guys are full." Heeyul smiled.

Jaemin nudged Jisung who was as stiff as a board. Jisung cleared his throat, trying to calm down. "Thank you for inviting us and for the meal. It was delicious."

"I've wanted to meet you guys for a while now. Sejeong kept talking about you guys when I went to visit her at the hospital." Heeyul admitted. "Especially you, Jisung."

All the color seemed to drain from Jisung's face as he looked at Sejeong for help. Sejeong looked at her mom who in turn gave her 'the look' and sighed.

"I think Renjun, Jeno, and Jaemin can set up our sleeping area in the living room." Sejeong suggested. "You guys cool with that?"

"Leave it to us."

"I'll go and wash the dishes." Chenle volunteered, instantly catching on to what was going on. He quickly cleared the table while the other three retreated to get their bedding.

"I'm going to take a shower." Donghyuck said, getting up.

"I called dibs on the first shower though." Sejeong frowned, following after him. "Let me go first. I swear I'll be quick."

"I wouldn't need to take a shower if Jaemin didn't spill his coffee on me in the car ride!" Donghyuck reasoned. "I don't want to take a 10 minute walk."

"Then let's compromise. Let's take a shower together." Sejeong suggested.

Donghyuck gave her a questioning look. "What? Are you nuts?"

"We've taken many showers together before!" She reasoned.

"We were kids!  Our parents wanted to save time and money on showers!"  Donghyuck reminded.

"So? The last one we took together was in middle school."

"Just because you've seen my dick before doesn't mean you need to see it again." Donghyuck argued.

"I mean, it's not like there's something to see in the first place." Sejeong sassed, pushing past him to get an advantage.

"Take that back!" Donghyuck gasped. "Mama Heeyul heard every word you said!"

Their bickering faded as they disappeared up the stairs, leaving Jisung in silence with Heeyul. He never thought he would be betrayed like this by his own friends and girlfriend.

"They're quite the rowdy pair, aren't they?"

"Yeah. They're always at each other's throats, but they still have each other's back." Jisung agreed, finally being able to crack a small smile.

"Now that they're gone, may I have a word with you?"
