"Ah, I really missed hanging out with you. This is the most fun I had this month." Sejeong sighed, throwing the empty cup of hot chocolate in a nearby trashcan.

"Same." Jisung agreed. He pulled her closer to him when a group of guys walked by, earning a questioning stare from the girl. "What if they're pricks? Just trying to protect you."

"By the way, you don't need to walk me home. The apartment is just a couple of blocks away. I'll be fine." She assured. "It's getting pretty late and you should catch a cab."

"Isn't it normal for friends to make sure you get home safely? Or is Jaemin trolling me?" He asked.

"A very caring friend would." She answered. "I think it's a pretty sweet thing to do. It's a small thing but I find it touching they still care."

"I see." He mumbled with a nod. He wished he had done this the first time they had gone out instead of using a dark creature to make sure she got home safe. "I should do it often then."

"Speaking of friend, how's that little favor? It's finally been more than a month." She nervously brought up.

"Has it already? I never noticed." He mused, looking at his calendar. "It's been two months and a half."

"Time flies by when you're having fun." She chuckled. "Unless..."

"Unless?" He echoed.

"You're just acting like you are." She finished off.

"I can assure you that I'm not acting. I'm genuinely happy with our friendship."  He assured.

"So what's your say on our deal? Do you want to continue being my friend or do you wanna cut ties?" Sejeong asked. She was afraid to hear his answer, but it needed to be settled. A sudden breeze blew on them, making the girl sneeze.

Jisung removed the scarf covering his neck and put it around Sejeong's. He playfully wrapped it around her head like she did with him before.

"You look like a tomato."

Sejeong pulled the scarf down and revealed her pouty face. "Jisung, be serious. I want to-"

Her brain seemed to malfunction as her tongue was tied at his actions. His lips went to plant a gentle kiss on her forehead. He pulled back with an endearing gaze locked solely on her.

"I'm fine with being your friend, but I want to be selfish for once in my life. I want to be something more than a friend if you'll let me."

"You just um I uh fuck. Sejeong words." Sejeong stammered stepping back. She felt her face burn and she was pretty sure her blush could rival the color of her scarf. "Are you saying—"

"I like you, Kwon Sejeong. You make me happy in ways I can't explain." Jisung confessed. "I know I was pretty mean at the start but now all I want to do is be with you."

He took one of her hands and placed it over his chest. She could feel his erratic heartbeat along with the warmth his hand brought.

"You do this to me. The thought of you, seeing you, talking to you, everything about you makes my heart go crazy. Shouldn't you take responsibility for what you've done to me?"

"I..." Sejeong felt like she forgot how to speak. She knew exactly what she wanted yet she couldn't put it into words.

This was the first time someone had confessed their feelings to her like this.

"Move!"

Jisung was quick to push her towards the brick wall of the building, putting his hand behind her head so she wouldn't get hurt. He used his body to shield her from the chaos. A couple of middle school students zoom by on their bikes, some of them purposely bumping against Jisung.

"Fucking assholes thinking they own the sidewalk. They could seriously injure someone at that speed." He cursed. He used his magic to melt their tires, satisfied when they all crashed into each other. "That should teach them a lesson."

"Are you okay?" Sejeong asked, looking up to him.

"As long as you are." Jisung assured. He stepped out of her personal space. "Let's get you back home and warm."

"Cheesy." She huffed as they started walking again.

"Only for you." He shot back.

"About your confession... I-"

"Wait! Don't say anything yet." Jisung interjected. "I don't want you to feel pressured with your answer. I want you to really give it time and think it through instead. You'll have more time to learn about me and fall for me."

"Um okay. I promise I won't be awkward. I'm just a little overwhelmed." Sejeong promised, raising her pinky. The sight of the entrance of the apartment complex made her feel sad. "It looks like we're here."

"I'll wait until you text me before I leave." He said.

"I'll be sure to run up the stairs." She was about to leave when Jisung stopped her. "What?"

"I meant to give this to you on the 25th but you're spending your holiday back at home." Jisung reached into his pocket and pulled out a neatly wrapped box.

"What did you get me? How much did you spend?" She questioned, guilty she didn't get him a gift. "I don't even have anything to give."

"Your time today and you introducing me to a new friend is the best gift I can get." Jisung reassured. "Just open it and you'll see."

Sejeong carefully unwrapped the gift, wanting to preserve the minimal gift wrap design. She opened it and gasped when she saw the laurel ring from Anteiku.

"No way. Jisung you didn't have to." She was speechless. When did he have the time to buy it?

He took the ring from the box and placed it on her finger. "Merry Christmas, Darling."

"Thank you. I'll treasure this." Sejeong thanked, giving him a quick hug.

"Go inside. Donghyuck must be waiting for you right now." Jisung ushered her into the building. She waved at him one last time before jogging up the stairs. She made it to the apartment and was sure to text him as she removed her shoes.

"You're just in time. Dinner is almost ready." Donghyuck greeted. "Go sit down."

Sejeong just hummed, taking a seat at the dining table. She had her eyes glued to the simple ring. She couldn't contain the smile and soft humming.

"Hyuck?" She quietly called.

"What? I just need five more minutes and the stew will be ready." Donghyuck mumbled.

"You were right. I am a 'slam-me-against-the-wall-and-call-me-yours' kind of person after all."

"I'm telling Mama Heeyul you're a thot."

"You finally sold that ring? I thought it was only up for display." Yuta asked as he cleaned the shelves. "You haven't sold that ring for decades and all of a sudden you do?"

"I didn't sell it, I gave it to him for free when he told me he planned on getting it for her." Taeil closed the book he was reading and sent it back to the shelf where it belonged.

"Every single museum in Korea is looking for that ring and here you give it to some young couple for free?" Yuta huffed, aggressively wiping the shelf.

"I just have a good feeling about those two." Taeil shrugged. "They both remind me of someone I know."

"What do you mean?" Yuta questioned.

"Have you ever heard what happened to Seong? I'm sure school doesn't teach you what I wrote."
