Jisung trembled in fear watching his brother fight the intruder. Their father was bleeding heavily and the boy knew he was a goner. Jisoo furiously fought both the assailant and the dark magic that threatened to corrupt him.

"Give into it, Jisoo. Just end it for your brother. Kill him with your bare hands before he turns into a monster."

"My brother isn't a monster and never will be!" Jisoo growled, the ball of fire in his hands growing larger. He threw the burning sphere at the assailant, only to miss.

"You'll turn into the monster soon. Choose, let your brother turn into the monster or you?"

Jisoo stopped for a moment as he thought deeply. He glanced at his brother with hesitant teary eyes.

"Jisung is human, and he will never turn into the monster you want him to." Jisoo "And I, will die the monster so he doesn't."

"Oh, it looks like you remembered something!" Felix smirked, spitting blood out onto the side. He twisted his arm back to place as he looked up to him. "How does it feel to be blamed by something your brother did?"

Felix circled around the fallen boy as he channeled more dark creatures from the shadows.

"Jisoo..." Jisung mumbled, body twitching as he used the life magic to recover himself. He was honestly reaching his limit even if Sejeong was near.

Felix laughed. "I don't want to fulfill whatever prophecy you want to avoid, I just want to give you a hard time."

"Why?! He had nothing to do with you!" Jisung growled. "He didn't do anything wrong!"

"You took everything from me, and now, it's my turn."  Felix grinned.

Jisung braced himself, wrapping the metal spike on his arm with dark energy. He watched Felix run towards and past him. He whipped his head back to face him, but was met with empty space.

Where could he have gone?

And then it dawned on him: Sejeong. If Felix wanted to take everything from him, then she would be the target.

"Fuck." Jisung cursed, teleporting back to the rooftop. There, he saw Jaemin, Donghyuck, and Sejeong surrounding the fallen Jeongin. "Darling!"

"Ji!" Sejeong sobbed, stumbling to him. The boy instantly reverted back to normal as he caught her. "No matter how much Jaemin tries to heal him he won't wake up."

"I didn't need this traitor anyway." Felix sat on the railing, a bored look on his face. Spears surrounded Donghyuck and Jaemin at the snap of Felix's fingers.

"Donghyuck!" She screamed, reaching out to him. "Jaemin! Get out of there!"

"If I stop, his heartbeat will stop. If he dies it's on me!" Jaemin reasoned. "Fucking hell, wake up!"

With another snap of Felix's fingers, the spears flew straight at the three. Jisung ran to them, forming a shield using dark energy. Felix smirked, manipulating the spears to go through and impale Jisung.

Jisung didn't budge even if he knew that he was the only target. He couldn't risk letting his friends be harmed. Sejeong watched in horror as this repeated several times. The dark energy weakened, eventually shattering the shield around the others.

Am I broken? Am I really a mage?

"This should do it. Goodbye, Park Jisung." Felix snapped his fingers again, this time a larger spear appearing.

The next thing she knew, she was in front of Jisung, taking the hit. The familiar metallic smell grew stronger as the red liquid poured from her mouth. Her hand gripped onto the spear that pierced her chest.

Is this what Saerin meant?

"Even until the final moments, this idiot never cared for herself." Felix mumbled. "My feelings are second to my goal."

She fell to her knees as small black spots filled her vision. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as she collapsed straight onto the concrete, desperate to catch the breath she was losing.

It was like the moment he hated the most in his past life memories mirrored with the present. It was the same agony he felt and the same sorrowful eyes that stared back at him.

"NO!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. He forced his aching arms to drag himself to her nearly cold body. "Don't die on me, please. I can lose everyone but you."

He cradled her in his arms, panic rising in him as the life in her eyes slowly faded away. She raised her hand to cup his bloodstained cheeks, the ring on her finger being the only thing warm.

A golden light came from her hand as the wounds and fatigue in the boy suddenly vanished. His energy was restored as the light died down.

"Are you crazy?" He shouted. "You should have healed yourself! My injuries aren't worth anything!"

He was sobbing at this point as he tried to heal her with his restored strength, but was just a second too late. He watched the last bit of color drain from her face in horror.

Her hand fell limp to her side. Her chest compressed for the final time as a short breath left lips. Her once lively eyes were now hollow as they stared blankly into the distance.

The boy let out a heart wrenching cry as he hugged her body closer to his. He desperately tried to bring her back to life with his powers, yet it didn't work no matter what magic he used.

She was gone.

Jisung shakily stood up, his hands shaking from pure rage. Something in him shattered, and the only thing he saw was red. Everyone turned into blobs, leaving only Felix in his vision. The ground shook as the air around him sparked. His image became distorted at the heat that surrounded him.

"I'm going to kill you even if it kills me."

Anyone could hear the explosion from miles away, leaving a brief earthquake that confused those in nearby areas.
