"Curiosity killed the cat, Hephzibah," She said with dead eyes then giggled immediately, making me feel as if I had imagined it. "Goodbye."

She flashed a friendly expression at me and wore her jacket. With that, she left and I slumped on my bed. What a day.

*********************

I had just returned  from classes. We finished very early today so I was the only one in the dorm because it was eerily quiet. Thank goodness I didn't make a fool of myself today.

I tightened the towel around my chest and enjoyed the sounds my flip flops made as I made my way to the bathroom to get a refreshing bath.

Stepping into the shower cubicle, I hung my towel on the holder that was mounted to the wall and turned on the shower. The balls of water hit my head like the rain banging on the ceiling of a building. The warm water relaxed my nerves–I stood there for a while before rubbing my sponge with my soap.

"I'm bullet proof, nothing-" I halted because I didn't know the lyrics to this song.

"Who am I, that the lord of all the earth would care to know my name, would care to feel my hurt?" Instead, I sang a song by casting crowns.

Why didn't I pursue a singing career again? I mean, damn I sounded like a Nightingale.

Turning off the shower, I wrapped my body with my towel and ended the song. "I am yours..." I shut my eyes and opened my arms like a bird about to fly.

Suddenly, I heard somebody giving me a round of applause–my eyes snapped open and a lump settled in my throat. What was that?

Everywhere was silent before the sound of someone taking mighty steps into the bathroom filled my ears. My eyes widened and cold water went down my spine. My heart was about to combust in my chest–there the horrible smell was again. I held tight to my towel and suppressed a scream of fear.

"Who-who is that?" I stammered, but there was no answer to my question.

The cubicle next to mine opened and was banged shut, causing my heart to leap out of my chest as I jerked.

"1,2,3..." I whispered, grabbed my bathing kit and ran out of the bathroom.

This school is so creepy! What creepy person was that?

I stopped running and heaved a sigh when I was five steps away from my room.

"Who am I-" I was about to sing before I got cut off by the strange voice of a woman.

"You are Hephzibah Asher and you have my-"

Before she could finish her sentence, I dashed into my room with a pounding heart and locked my door. I held my chest and began to shake internally.

I rested my forehead on my door and closed my eyes, but they flew open when I heard the clicking sound of heels.

Quickly, I backed away from the door and rushed to get my phone. I dialled Debby's line, but my call was declined, followed by a text message from her that said she was in class.

I scrolled through my contacts and dialled Emi. The moment she picked, I rushed my words with shaky hands.

"Emi-Emi, where are you?" I stammered with a familiar shake in my voice.

"I'm in my dorm, are you alright?"

"No, I think someone in this dorm is messing with me... They want to give me a heart attack." I scanned the entire room. "Come over, please."

"I'll be right there." The call ended and the clicking sound became even louder than before.

After ten minutes, there was a rap on the door, knocking the spirit out of me. My knees shook and my knuckles turned white. This school wouldn't be the death of me.

"Hephzibah, it's Emi." She yelled and I ran to open the door.

*****************

Emi had waited for me to get dressed so she could take me back to her dorm till my roommates returned.

I locked the door, glancing from left to right. There was this unexplainable thing in the air that made me so scared.

"Calm down, I'm sure it's someone trying to mess with your head because you're a newbie." Emi soothed me by patting my back.

"The person is driving me crazy! I hate it here and I want to go back home." I shuddered.

I really wanted to leave this place. Even if I hated it at home, I preferred being there than here.

We walked out of my dorm and I felt relieved the moment the breeze touched my face. I released the breath I didn't know I had been holding.

We got into her room and her bed was occupied by two girls. Emi sat on her bed and I said hi to the two brunettes on her bed.

With no space on Emi's bed, I sat on Mandy's and tried to shake out the weird feeling that was in my chest.

Five minutes gone, Emi and the girls were so into the conversation they were having. They talked like they were taps and I sniggered sometimes at their jokes.

I laid my back on Mandy's bed and felt something poking my back. Sitting up, I felt the stuff with my hands under the blanket and pulled it out–it was the pink neck massager again. My eyes searched the body for a button. I pushed it down and it began to vibrate. A smile crawled up my face as I closed my eyes and rubbed it on my neck.

"Ah... Feels better." I muttered.

"What is she doing?" One of the brunette's asked and I opened my eyes, rubbing my face with the cucumber like massager.

"Euw! Hephzibah, what are you doing?" Emi asked, getting to her feet.

"Massaging my face and neck..." I trailed off, wondering why they stared bug eyes at me as if I had committed murder.

"That's a vibrator!" Emi slapped it out of my hands and shook my shoulders. "Are you still naive?"

The brunettes guffawed and I turned crimson.

"No wonder it vibrates." I picked it up again and inspected the body. "What does my naiveness have to do with this?"

"Because you don't know girls masturbate with a vibrator. That has been in her pussy!"

"Euw!" I threw the vibrator on the bed and felt like throwing up.
