Sunshine [Ray x OC][Indefinite Hiatus]

Chapter 40

Recap:

Emma is now at the Goldy Pond. A new character has presented. Archduke Leuvis has set his eyes on Emma.

Third Person POV

[January 28, 2046, Goldy Pond]

The four kids heaved heavily as they tried to catch their breath. Emma zoned out as she formulates a plan on how to contact Ray and 'Mister'. Suddenly a loud 'bonk' hit Emma straight in the head, making her wince in pain.

"IDIOT!" V said. Emma looked at her while caressing the tender part on her head. "Are you crazy?! Just when when I thought you had run for it, you help these kids! Are you stupid?!" V shouts at her.

"Yes." Emma admits truthfully making V grit her teeth. They didn't notice a certain white-haired boy watching them with a glint in his eyes.

"You even had to go and get the worst of them, too. That one is no laughing matter. The one with a hat." V said seriously, making Emma look at her. A loud laugh broke their serious tension. The white-haired boy walked towards them, ignoring the other kids as he continued to laugh.

"Aw, man!" He said as he wiped a tear that escaped his eye from laughing too much. "You have guts!" Emma looked at him weirdly. V rolled her eyes and looked at him with disgust.

"Go to him, will you? You are disturbing us." V said to him. His laughter subsided and looked at V with malice in his eyes. He pulled a knife and points it at the three kids Emma saved. They flinched as he swung it with no care whatsoever.

"You should've let them die. Now you're a prey to Leuvis. Tsk tsk." He said with fake sympathy as he swished the knife back and forth, not caring that the nearest kid would be hit. Emma looked at him with a frown.

"Well-"

"Oh would you look at the time!" He said with a high-pitched voice as he purposely cuts off Emma. Emma grits her teeth as he stared at the smirking man in front of her. "I should get back. I don't want to be killed by useless brats like you." He said as he walked away.

Emma looked at him as he walked away from them. She noticed how light his footsteps are and how he easily hides his presence with the high-ranking demons when she saved the other kids. Emma looked at his disappearing form before focusing to V, who had a scowl on her face.

"Who's that?" Emma asked her. V looked at her before sighing.

"Zen." V said. Emma looked at her as she waits for her to talk more but V gave her a stinky eye. "You'll know that shit later. But for now, I know that you observed he had a shitty personality." Emma nods. "Well, that's who he is. You can't change him.

"Okay." Emma agreed before looking at the three kids they saved. "Where were we?"

At long last, the music is over. Meaning, the hunt is over. Emma looked around as she noticed that some kids with dirty clothes appeared. Some are sighing in relief, others are crying in loss. 

"It's over." Emma muttered under her breath. A man with a scar across his nose walked out with a kit along with his friend.

"Is anyone hurt? Come here for immediate medical attention!" Emma looked at the medicine kits.
