Sunshine [Ray x OC][Indefinite Hiatus]

Chapter 21

Sunshine's POV

[November 4, 2045, Nighttime, Dining Hall]

"Sunshine?!" Don and Gilda shrieked. 

"Shh! You'll attract Mama!" I hissed. Don and Gilda placed a hand over their mouth and nod repeatedly. I rolled my eyes and faced Emma, who is about to cry.

"Go, Emma. You can cry somewhere." I said, knowing that Mama will go to the infirmary to convince Emma. Emma nods and wobbles her way out. I faced a sleep-deprived Ray. I rolled my eyes and pulled him to me. We walk back to where he is a while ago and pushed him there.

"W-Why are you here?" Gilda asked as she recovers from shock. I smiled sadly before grabbing a chair and sitting down beside Ray who is staring at me with no shame. I rolled my eyes at him and faced the other two.

I told them everything, from the beginning, Ray's failed and accomplished plans, and some of my plans which they are involved. There are other parts of my plan which I didn't tell because they are better accomplished when I didn't tell them.

"So. . . all this time, you're working behind the shadows and assisting us?" Don asked. I nod my head before leaning back to rest my body. 

"Then if you know everything, why didn't you save Norman?" Don asked. I closed my eyes and sighed deeply.

Ah. Here we go again.

"Because it's fated. I cannot tell more." I replied as I stand up. Dizziness hit me like a truck, catching me off guard and making my balance off. I closed my eyes preparing for the impact but instead arms wrapped around me and pulled me, colliding my body to theirs. I opened my eyes to see Ray's worried expression.

"Are you nuts?! You shouldn't pushed yourself!" Ray scolded me as he carried me bridal style. My face flushed deep red but said nothing as Ray continue to mumble his worries.

"I'm fine." I cut him off ay my eyes gets droopy. Ray rolled his eyes as he opened the door to our shared bedroom. He placed me on top of the bed and covered me with my blanket and moved away from me. He sits down at the edge of his bed and stared at me with distant eyes.

"Ray." I called his attention. Ray hummed. I noticed that he is not staring at me, rather past me. I look to my side to see the empty bed of Norman. I sighed sadly before turning my attention to Ray.

He'll be having his past nightmares when he sleeps.

I scooted over to give some space and pat my side. Ray looked at me confused. I rolled my eyes at him for the nth time.

"Sleep beside me." I said in a 'duh' tone. Ray understood so he slips inside m blanket and snuggled my sides, placing his right hand at my back and slipping his left arm under my head. I placed my left arm over his right side and my left leg over his,, my head angled to hear his slow heartbeat.

"This is nice." Ray mumbled, closing his eyes. I stared at him for a few seconds before placing my head back to his chest and closed my eyes, inhaling his sweet scent.

"Sleep." I whispered.

"No." Ray said.

"Why?"

"Nightmares." He whispered as he buried his nose on my hair.

I knew it. 

"Then don't sleep." I can feel Ray's stare at me as I continued to listen to his heartbeat.
