Sunshine [Ray x OC][Indefinite Hiatus]

Chapter 8

Sunshine's POV

[October 29, 2045, After lunch, playtime]

As I read sat under the shades, I stared at Ray, Emma, and Norman as they did the laundry. I sighed as I decided to continue to read with Phil by my side.

"Sunshine?" Phil called me, making me look at him and softly smiles, waiting for him to continue. "When do we start the plan?"

"Later at night." I said with a small smile. "As long as you believe what I've told you, you won't be in danger."

"Okay!" Phil exclaimed before standing up and walking to where Sherry is. I looked back at Ray, Emma, and Norman who stopped doing their laundry and instead talked to each other.

They must be planning for the team tags and Emma is now memorizing Ray's one hundred types of tag formations.

I sighed before standing u and walking towards the House. But before I can enter, somebody caught my hand, making me look back and look at Ray's piercing stare at me.

"What?" I asked.

"You're not playing?" Ray asked me making my eyebrows rose up.

"You're playing?" I mocked at him, trying to keep up the act and hopefully Ray gets the hint. Ray furrows his eyebrows before loosening his grip and finally letting my arm go.

"Now, if you'll excuse me." I said as walk inside the House

"We'll talk later." Ray said before walking away from me and going to where the other kids are waiting for him.

"Oh dear." A sudden voice made me snap out of my reverie as I look up at Mama's solemn look. "What happened?"

"I don't exactly know, Mama." I said softly as I look down forcing some tears to my eyes. "Ray's being distant these past few days. I don't know what happened." I said as I look up at Mama, letting the tears stream down my face. Mama shushed me as she hugs me tight, careful not to crush Carol between us.

"Oh, dear. It's okay. Mama's here. It's okay." Mama reassures me as she continue petting my head. I hiccup, continuing to fake my cries before pulling away and wiping my tears. Mama helps me wipe my tears.

"Do you want to help me with your youngest siblings?" Mama offered as she stands up. I shake my head before gripping the book and look down.

"No, thank you, Mama. I'll just stay in my room." I decline politely as I smile at her. She smiled back before walking outside with a cooing Carol in her arms. I rolled my eyes mentally before making my way to the bedroom.

Heh, for all I know, you're preparing me for the Mama role since I completed the first requirement.

As I enter the bedroom, I placed the book on top of my bed before heading to a window. I glanced outside to see Emma and Norman's group is running towards the forest while Ray's group stay's behind. I then saw Mama looking at Ray with a blank expression.

Oh, yeah. They're playing team tag. 

I heaved a sigh as I walk to my bed and plop down, grabbing the book in the process.

I didn't see Sister Krone outside so maybe she is doing something inside. Man, she is so shady

I opened the book where I left off and continue to read, Ignoring the cheering people of the younger kids who stayed by Mama's side. My reading didn't last long as I became quickly bored. I walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen to grab a drink before going to a window nearest to Ray, Emma, and Norman.
