[July 25, 2036, Sunshine's POV]

Being a prodigy has its own pros and cons. You know everything, learn everything in a blink of an eye, and they will be with you every step of the way to success.

Right? No.

The problem is, your parents is so busy making money that they don't know that they have a child. In this case, my parents.

Well, I have an escape form this pressure and stress, and that is watching anime and reading manga. Being a weeb-slash-otaku also has its pros and cons. I'll be notified immediately if there are updates from manga or anime and I will watch whatever anime caught my eye, but I won't have time to pass any requirements due because I'm quite busy in the anime world

Which is why my parents are scolding me right now.

"Sunshine, I got another call from your teachers that you did not submit your projects and requirements, again. What is the meaning of this?" My mom asked as she folded her arms in front of her while looking at me pointedly.

"I forgot." I said softly, straight up lying. I don't forget any requirements, I just don't see the sense of doing it because all the projects that the students will pass will just collect dust at their storage room.

Getting scolded everyday is normal, since the topic is always the same. I saw dad entering the house with his phone near her ear, clearly talking to someone business-related.

"You forgot? Are you serious now? You are a prodigy! How can you forget things?!" Mom said exasperated, throwing her hands in the air. She then looked to dad and  said, "Honey, your daughter here forgot to submit her requirements!"

"Yeah, yeah. I get it." Dad said, waving her off. Mom looked at him and me in disbelief. I shrugged my shoulders before standing up and making my way to my room.

"Mom, just accept it. We're a broken family. I want to be free, Dad wanted to work his ass off, and you wanted to piss both of us off. Nothing's gonna work. You're too focused on me being a prodigy." I said in a low voice before entering my room.

As I close the door, I let my tears fall. Silently sobbing, I decided to binge watch The Promised Neverland again, since tomorrow is weekend. Getting my laptop, I make myself comfortable in my bed. Ever since I finished the manga, I can't wait for the season 2 to be animated.

As I press the play button, I decided to write--more like  type since I will be using my laptop-- another entry in my diary as I listen to the opening of the anime.

Entry #913 [July 25, 2036]

Being a prodigy is also not good. Constantly being pressured to something I don't want to do is a big no-no to me. I prefer a lowlife, where I want to showcase my brain whenever I wanted to. Mom's being an ass. She wanted me to be the perfect daughter yada yada.

How I wish to be like Emma. She's so optimistic. And Norman, he considers the opinion of others, specially Emma, since he has a huuuuuge crush on her. And Ray. Though he is like an emo dude, he has his reasons why. And that's what makes me attracted to him. He thinks way advanced and considers every route possible.

Being shy also doesn't help either. Mom said I am always acting this way to get the pity of others. I don't need pity though. all I want is support. Just like how Ray supports Emma in her every decision.

How I wish to be in that anime.

The moment I finished typing those words, I heard three consecutive knocks from the wardrobe in front of me, giving me chills. The knock are then followed by three scratches, then three consecutive knocks.

Morse code?

"Um, hello? You're creeping me out." I said as I reached for my phone and opening the flashlight app and focused it to my wardrobe.

"Come. . . Play with me. . . " I heard a childish voice. Feeling yet another chill down my spin, I decided to put my big girl pants on and stand up, the anime still playing in my laptop. Walking near the wardrobe, I can't help but shiver from the cold.

"Okay, this is creeping me out, this is creeping me out. I should call the police." I said as I reached for the handle of my wardrobe. Flinching at the sudden contact at the cold handle, I decided to talk once more.

"Whoever the hell you are, if this is a prank, I'm gonna kick your ass." I said. I heard a childish laugh from inside the wardrobe that creep me out, making me stumble and fall, my bum making contact harshly to the floor.

"Be careful. . . What you wish for. . . You should've been careful. . .what you wished for. . ." The childish voice said. I'm about to answer the voice before flinching at the sudden opening of my wardrobe door, making me shout in fright and close my eyes.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

"Now, now, Sunshine, don't cry."

What?

"Mama, why is she crying?"

Mama? Who is-- oh no.

"Because she is startled by you shouting."

"Gah! Don't sneak on me!"

"Now, now children, go ahead and make use of your remaining free time playing."

D-Don't tell me. . .

"Yes, Mama!!!"

"I will just put Sunshine inside the nursery room then I'll be back for dinner preparations."

I-I'm In The Promised Neverland?!
