I walk through the park and see a girl fall off her skateboard. I point at the ground and Leo sits. I give him a thumbs up and go to the girl.
"Thank you." She says.
"No problem." I say.
"I'm Charli." She says.
"Y/n." I say.
Leo howls and runs to us.
"This is Leo." I say.
Leo sits and Charli rubs his head.
"Do you want to go get coffee or something?" I ask.
"Sure." Charli says blushing.
I smile and we go to Dunkin.
"Where are you from?" I ask.
"Connecticut." Charli says.
"Me too." I say.
"I noticed the scar on your arm. If you don't mind me asking, how'd you get it?" Charli says.
"My dad had a lot of anger issues in the past." I say.
"Does he still hurt you?" She asks.
"Keep your mouth shut." Dad says.
"Y/n?!" She asks.
"Your dad is gonna kill me one day and you have tell someone when you can." Mom says.
"Yea." I say starting to cry.
Charli hugs me and rubs my back.
"It killed my mom and I don't want to go back." I say.
"It's okay." She says.
Leo whines and I rubs his head against my leg.
"You can Leo come to my house." She says as we let go.
I nod my head and she smiles.
25 minutes later...
"How'd you guys meet?" Dixie asks.
"She fell off her skateboard." I say.
Dixie laughs and smiles.
"That's what you get for stealing my shit." Dixie says as Charli comes out of the bathroom.
"Get out." Charli says.
Dixie picks the skateboard up and leaves.
"Thank you for all of this." I say.
"No problem." Charli says laying next to me.
I smile and Charli turns the light off.
