"I'll get going" I said as I hopped out of the car a little further from school. My boyfriend tae gave me a warm smile before driving off to the parking lot.
Our relationship was hidden, I certainly do not want to risk his job. Just to let y'all know that this is my final year in University which means I'm already 22 and tae well he's just 3 years older then me, and as he has an International degree our university immediately hired him for Economics (PS I hate economics).
Quietly making my way towards the classroom I came across Maya and her group, they aren't my bullies but they often made fun of my grades. I honestly did have much interest in business related subjects instead I play piano quite well and sing a little.
However people here don't really appreciate other fields, that's why I always get judged.
" hey y/n guess what I got in Accounts....an A+" she bragged, making me roll my eyes. Ignoring her I went inside the class and took a seat at the farthest end.
The first unit, I was scolded by Professor Lee for scoring a C in maths. I hate being yelled at, but I need to stay strong as I can't let the other students get anther reason to make fun of me.
Next unit was economics, I was a bit relieved that tae isn't like other teachers. He soon came in class greeting students, we made an eye contact but it wasn't like usual, he looked disappointed.
Shrugging off the negative thoughts, I focused on the lecture. " So I checked your papers in the first unit and most of you scored amazing grades " he smiled looking everywhere except at me.
He started distributing the papers until Maya's name was called " Maya you scored an A+ congratulations " once again, I sighed as Maya shook hands with my boyfriend already blushing like crazy.
I scoffed, when suddenly my name was called. Making my way to the front u saw how disappointed tae was looking. " Ms y/n you got a D, how many times do I need to tell you to focus on your studies. If you really carry on this behavior you might need another year at this university " his words were like a pang , as if someone punched on my heart with full force.
Already sensitive from earlier scolding, my eyes were about to gave up any moment. What further broke my heart was how I was actually paying attention to every lecture but always ends up getting bad grades.
"If you can't focus ask Maya to mentor you"his sentence made Maya giggle and that was it, it was the last straw, I grabbed my paper a bit harshly from his hand and walked back to my seat.
Thankfully the students started focusing more on taehyung while I just let the tears fall. I was trying my best to let out my emotions silently but it caught his eye. I saw how he scanned my face, and my red eyes. Giving him a glare I rested down my head on the desk. He assigned all of us a task while he took rounds of the room.
Already feeling my morale down I saw how he came towards my desk trying to touch my hand which I yanked away and loudly asked. " Sir can I use the restroom? " my harsh tone caught him off guard but he allowed me as I quickly dashed outside already knowing that I won't be coming back for his lesson.
Making my way towards my safe place, I instantly felt relaxed as the instruments kept in front of me gave me comfort. The music room was empty, making it easier for me to cry my heart out.
I kept playing the piano as I sang the lyrics that came up in my mind. I felt as if I was being compared to Maya , the look of satisfaction on her face , the words tae said everything made my eyes cry a million tears.
I left the premises before tae could find me here. I most certainly did not wanted to have a conversation with him.
