Part 3: Wolf Girl

~ ~ ~ ~ ** ~ ~ ~ ~

Surprisingly, Ruby found herself sitting on a cliff, overlooking the beach in La Push. She wasn't sure why her brain took her there, it was somewhere she had never been. Once more her powers proved strange, even for her.

When she heard light footsteps approach her, she sighed. She was sure Bella had sent Jacob to find her. "Look, Jacob, I just want to be alone."

A whimper was heard, strangely it sounded almost female. She turned to the wolf, only to see it a different colour to Jacob's copper, it was more grey, with white. "Well, you're not Jacob."

Ruby stared at the wolf, looking into the mind of the creature, only to see it was a girl. "You're a female, yet I thought only males were wolves," Ruby spoke, though received no reply. "You are a pretty thing."

The wolf looked behind the girl and growled, yet the growled seemed normal to anyone, Ruby could sense the emotion behind it. "That sounds like a pained growl. Somebody did you wrong, didn't they?"

A whimper left the wolf's mouth. Ruby looked inside the wolf's mind, only to see Emily and Sam together. She was brought to a different memory, Sam and another girl, the wolf, being a couple, before breaking up.

She felt sympathy for the girl. She had her heart broken and was now forced to deal with them all the time, due to the pack.

"It must be painful, watching them together and not being able to leave, having to join the pack." She made a pair of shorts and a top appear. "If you shift, it will be easier for us to talk."

The wolf stared at her, unsure what to do. Ruby smirked at the wolf. "You're more likely to bite than me." The wolf took the clothes, going off only to return a few seconds later.

Ruby couldn't help but let her eyes scan the girl's body. She was hot, extremely hot, though she didn't feel an physical attraction towards the girl. It was strange.

"So, what's you're sob story, since you know mine?" Leah questioned, sitting next to the girl. "I know Sam broke your heart and got with your friend-" "Cousin," Leah corrected the Hybrid.

Ruby couldn't help but let out a hissing sound. The ultimate betrayal. A family member stealing your partner, Ruby would've killed the girl if it was her.

"We used to be extremely close, that's how he met her. She was visiting me," Leah said as she started playing with her hands. "She was visiting me after Sam and I got engaged. After Sam disappeared for a couple of weeks, he returned. He had changed, now I know it was because he shifted, then I had no idea what had happened."

Ruby felt her heart break with each word Leah had spoke. The wolf girl didn't deserve to suffer, just because Sam had shifted. She was oblivious to the world of imprinting, that was something she wasn't allowed to tell the girl, only an imprint could know.

Leah grew quiet. She was done speaking about what had happened to her. Ruby knew she had to make the girl feel better and words wouldn't be enough. She had another idea.

"I was kind of seeing this boy," Ruby started, catching Leah's attention. "He was a vampire." Leah scoffed causing Ruby to chuckle. "Yeah. We were friendly, sexually. I need lust to survive and he helped me. The only problem, he was in love with me."

Ruby felt terrible knowing that Alec truly did love her. If only they were mates, she would've stayed with him. "Did you love him?" Leah asked, curious to hear more. "No, but I almost did. I almost fell in love with him," she admitted. "I was afraid, terrified that he would find his mate and I would be forgotten."
