♡ Part 81: tomatoes ♡

sasuke: how is any of that helping this!

he finally cocked his head up from his desk to see a masked man giving a genuine closed-eye smile. the anger that was building up in him sunk away as he stared at his sensei

kakashi: i only wanted to get your attention, that's all

his smile became even more genuine, if that was even possible

kakashi: you're good person, sasuke. better than what you give yourself credit for. 

sasuke scoffed as he leaned back and crossed his arms. 

sasuke: nice joke

kakashi: that's my point right there, you're doubting yourself

the masked man released his eyes from their smiles and fixed his posture

kakashi: what you did to your teammate, no, best friend was wrong and i can't let you off the hook for that. 

sasuke: just say it already, i'm off the team aren't i?

kakashi: your resume that you gave me, it said that you wanted to be on the national hockey team. there's no way that i could take that away from you, sasuke. not after that hardships that you went through to just build up the courage to admit that you really and genuinely wanted to still be on the team with your friends, with naruto, with sakura. 

sasuke: sakura and i broke up, kakashi-sensei

kakashi: ...right. 

he sighed

kakashi: i'm going to make you pay for what you did, that's reasonable. i'll get you to clean the floors everyday after practice in the gym and when we're practicing at the arena i'll get you to clean the messes that for some odd reason, you guys somehow make when i'm not looking

the raven's lips slightly curved upwards

kakashi: you're not off the team, but you will face consequences

sasuke: hmph

kakashi: not just for hockey, but for your bonds as well

sasuke: .....

'what the hell is he trying to say?'

the raven narrowed his eyes

kakashi: i can see you better than you think i can

sasuke: what is there to see? i'm sasuke uchiha

the raven looked to the side

sasuke: that's all

kakashi: but you're also my player..... the only player that i have in mind when it comes to the future of our team

there was always something about sasuke and kakashi found that only he could see. of course, he was just a highschool student who loved hockey---- but there was something more to that than what people took it for. he wasn't just sasuke the hockey player, he was something else. 

but that was something that kakashi caught onto---- although quite frankly, he didn't think that sasuke himself caught onto it

kakashi: if this tournament goes well, i have something in mind for you. think of it as a scholarship, but not really. in a way, you will gain something from this tournament if you do show great results, so i expect you to do more than just your best. i want you to reach higher than a skyscraper

sasuke: stop trying to motivate me, sensei. you're just a pervy man, not a motivational speaker. hmph

kakashi internally face palmed himself
