The girls, Hermione and Cho, had left before me so they could meet with Cedric and Viktor. Yes, I understand Cho would be making a big entrance with him. At the moment, I didn't care. In a relationship, you need to make sacrifices, and this was a painful one to make.

I stood up and headed down to the yule ball. I was decorated in green, silver, and gold. My hair rested on my back in a messy braid full of small white flowers. I didn't want to ruin the surprise so I walked through the hallways most people never used. Luckily the entire path was empty.

I arrived at the doors and realized they had already walked in and started dancing. "Shit!" I scolded my self for being late. I slipped through the doors as they started to close. The train on the dress almost got stuck. I snuck around a small group of people and hid behind another. No one noticed me yet. As the doors closed and the music started I tried to spot the Malfoy's and my Parents. Malfoy was standing next to his mother as she chatted with mine. Our fathers both were looking around. Lucius Malfoy spotted me and nudged his wife. Her attention turned to me and her smile was bright. She seemed like she never got the chance to happily greet people. Her husband spotted her smile causing her to stop.

"Excuse me, peasants," I said loud enough so the people around me turned to look at me. People started to stare which made me nervous. I could feel my face heating up but I kept my cool. As I stepped through the crowd, more people started turning away from the students who were dancing and towards me. I made my way through the crowd of people and around the dancers coming face to face with Draco Malfoy and our parents.

The closer got to him the more his posture changed. He went from slightly slouching to standing up straight. "May I?" he put out his hand. I nodded and put my hand in his. I flinched when our hands met. It was cold to the touch, his ring didn't make it any better.  He looked back at our parents and then looked at me. He nodded and started to walk to the dance floor.

"Your hands are so cold." I laughed as he put them on my waist, he held on in a way that was comfortable. Like a puzzle piece.

"Your hands are so cold. No one told you to have warm hands." He said as he started to move us in rhythm with the song. "You look atrocious by the way."

"Thank you Malfoy, you look very attractive too." He smiled, but not with a smirk or with a weird facial expression, he smiled with his teeth and put his head down to hide.

As we danced I felt eyes on me. It wasn't either of our parents. It was Cedric. His eyes burned into the back of my skull. Our eyes met and he looked away and focused on Cho.

Draco pulled me closer to him. "If I drop you, I'm sorry."

"What?" Before I could say anything else, he tightened his hands on my waist and lifted me. Butterflies filled my stomach and everything moved slowly.

I looked down and the butterflies got worse. Instinctively I held onto his shoulders tighter and he winced at the sudden pain, but he didn't drop me. My feet touched the ground and kept moving as if I wasn't just in the air. The music started to move faster and he started to change the dance, but I could barely notice. Our eyes stopped darting around the room and focused on each other's eyes instead.

We didn't speak, we just kept dancing as the music kept changing. Soon a newer band started to play more upbeat songs but we kept dancing. Maybe we were afraid to face our parents, maybe Malfoy needed to enjoy this. He put his hand in mine and spun me.

At that moment, I only saw a blur. A blur of Cedric, Harry, Ron, and Cho. They were watching. When I faced Draco again I realized we were the only two still dancing. I didn't care. I was having fun, and I was making sure my boyfriend would live to see the light of day. As turned he pulled me in by my waist, he bent down and put his head next to mine and laughed.

"You put effort into this dance, didn't you?" He scoffed at my question.

"I'm naturally this good." We both started laughing together, then we both stopped and looked up at each other.

"Draco! Y/N! Come here at once." It was my father calling him over, our parents were over by the doors.

Our faces went cold and we stopped dancing. His hands slowly left my waist before he went back to stone-cold Draco Malfoy. I followed him with my head down. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Cedric step forward ready to step in but Harry and Cho stopped him. Draco and I arrived at our parents and kept our distance.

"You have your own rythm. You two dance beautifully, But I'm afraid its time for that to stop." My mother spoke out.

"We need to discuss something with you. It's about where you will be spending your summer break Y/N."  My father looked over to Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy.

"You'll be spending the summer in our mannor. Draco will be in a seperate room of course."  He stopped to nodd at my father. "Now, Mr. and Mrs. Y/L/N will be visiting the americas. They will be visiting you family over near Ilvermorny. The horrible place in Massachusetts." We all let out a laugh, mine was forced of course.

I looked over at Draco and held out my hand. 'Commit to the act.' I told myself a few times. He took my hand in his and smiled. "Thank you for the offer, I can't wait." my mother reached forward and fixed my sleeve. It was slightly folded.
