Cho's pov:

Cedric was in a random empty classroom on the second floor. Who knows how he got there so quickly. "How could she do this to me?" he was sitting at a desk with his head in his hands.

"She doesn't have a choice, Cedric." I tried to get him to listen but he wouldn't. I would have to dig deeper than basic comfort conversation. "Celery-"

"Don't call me that." He looked up at me. His eyes were dark and cold. I smiled, it was working.

"You have your issues and I have mine, Cedric, but you're lucky." I walked to another table and laid on top of it. The wood felt cold against my back. "She loves you so much that she is willing to go against everything she believes in for you. I mean everything Cedric. She came to me and Harry crying, I'd never seen a Slytherin cry like that before. She needed a Slytherin and the only one who was in a bad enough situation and who was ballsy enough to go against you, the Cedric Diggory, was Draco.  If you got to know him he isn't that bad. In fact, he is just like Y/N."

"Do not ever dare to speak those words again, you twat." He looked surprised at what he just said.

"She isn't doing this to cheat on you, she is doing this so she can be with you. What's the point in this dance anyway? I find it pointless. Besides, you shouldn't be so upset that you are going to miss another chance to show Hogwarts and the spirit of Merlin himself how much you love this girl."

"It's still the point," He stood up now and started pacing. "I practiced dancing for her, I convinced Harry to dance with me since he's only a little shorter than her and no one else would keep a secret. I went as far as-"

"Stop Cedric. It's either you miss one dance and spend the rest of your lives together, or you dance and die."

"I guess you're right. I'm just upset." He sighed putting his head down again. "I punched someone. Oh Merlin, I punched someone!"

"Stay here, I'll be right back. I've got something for you." I nodded my head to him before heading off towards the gardens again.

Y/N's pov.

"What do you see in him anyway?" Draco asked. I was laying in the grass playing with a garden snake. He was sitting in one of the chairs.

"What?" I asked him.

"What do you see in Diggory?"

"Someone who is smart, caring, and they lead with their heart. He's got his whole life ahead of him and he lives with love in his heart and not self-loathing."

"Wouldn't you rather be with someone of your own kind though?" Before I could say anything back to his comment he continued. "I know I've said some messed up things in my past but I didn't mean it. Like, everyday I look around at all of the people that are in Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw and I can't seem to think of what my parents would say. I can only imagine how hard this is for you."

"Yeah it is rough and rocky Malfoy, but if we can get through this one night it will all be worth it. I don't have to carry on my family name, I can just leave with him and never look back. I can go to the Americas or something, who knows." The two sat in silence until Cho returned.

They both understood each other but also didnt agree.

Cedric's Pov

I sat there thinking. I love her. I love Y/N. If she needs to do this then I'll let her. This is not my life to live, its ours, and its not fair if I'm selfish enough to potentially harm her.

Cho knocked on the door and came in. "I brought someone special-"

"Me!" Draco yelledas he waltzed into the room. Y/N walked in and smacked him over the back of the head.

"I'm sorry. I should have told you sooner, but I knew this would happen either way. So I wanted to put it off. It was selfish and rude of me to hold it off."

"I'll do it." I stood up and walked over to her. She looked relieved. "If it means we can be together, I'll do it. Malfoy- I will kill you if you don't treat her right." He put his hands up in defense, again.

Y/N hugged me before leaving. She had to meet with Harry and Ron to plan something for Hermione.
