"Y/N," Cedric said as he stood near the stone in front of him. "I come here often, just to say hi, but I have to get something off my chest."

He took a deep shaky breath. His hands were trembling in the pockets of his coat. He couldn't believe he'd come here to tell you the truth.

"I let you down, and I'm sorry." He could feel his knees get weak and his head got light. "I finished school. I finished it with the best scores I could get." He felt his heartbeat in his chest. "I'm sorry I haven't come here sooner. I was working. I opened a shop across from the twins."

"I helped George get back on his feet after you and Fred... well, anyway, and he helped me get back on mine. He's actually visiting Fred tomorrow." He rocked back and forth on his feet. "He is out of town."

"I never got out." he said again. "I promised you I'd have seen the world by now, but I never left." He sighed and gave in to the weight in his knees and sat on top of your grave. "The shop is a side job, I teach at Hogwarts now."

He explained what it like now. He explained how in the ruble and mess, he found that the dorm rooms you'd lived in was almost perfectly fine. He explained he kept most of your things he could find.

He told the stories about George's new life. He talked about the Weasleys, potter, and the two adorably weird kids you couldn't get enough of, Luna and Neville.

It started to rain. The sun started to rise.

"Goodnight Love, I'll be back soon." He walked away. His hand was in his pocket, fidgeting with a ring. It was a beautiful diamond ring.

"You never liked diamonds," he whispered to himself as he left.
