Joey left an hour ago for work and I just laid in my bed; Joey left one hundred dollars for me to spend this morning on my dresser. The phone he got me is an iPhone 8 and I wasn't really expecting him to get me an expensive phone. I had down loaded this app called Spotify and made my own playlist of songs. I have been listening to some other songs figuring out if I like them or not, but so far there have been a few I have liked. I decided I should probably just go ahead and get this shopping done.
I got up deciding to just wear a black tank top with a pair of blue jeans with holes at the knees. I slipped on my black and white sneakers then grabbed the cash and my new phone with the earbuds. I had to look up wear to go shopping and it wasn't far from where I was. As I walked down the hall I saw Miss. Ganzlie coming out her apartment "oh hi Julieta," she said seeing me. I smiled at her "morning Miss. Ganzlie," I said "what are you up to this morning," she asked me cheerfully "just off to get new clothes. I start school tomorrow," I tell her as we walk towards the elevator.
"Oh you must be excited," Miss. Ganzlie asked me, she is such a sweet old woman and very genuine. She has a cane to help her walk with shoulder length grey hair with soft sky blue eyes. Her skin is a bit pale but it still looks great with her wrinkly old skin. We both get into the elevator "I guess. I haven't been to a regular school since I was eleven" I admitted "oh you were home schooled," she asked me. "Yes ma'am with several other girls," I told her deciding it be best to not go into detail about my exact living situation I had. "Oh how fun," she said as the doors opened to the lobby "well you have fun. I am going to go play with a few friends in bingo," she told me. She then walked off towards the left after I held the door open for her.
I close the door smiling at the dear old lady as she walked towards the bus stop. I stopped myself from walking away it really wasn't safe for her to wait by herself. I turned around and quickly jogged to her "Miss. Ganzlie," I called she stopped turning to me. "Let me wait with until the bus comes," I asked her "oh dear I can handle myself," she told me "I may be old but I still can use this baby," she told me stomping the cane on the concrete. "No really I insist," I told her, she smiled "very well then," Miss. Ganzlie said. We then walked to the bus stop as we waited I made Miss. Ganzlie put her number in my phone. So I can pick her up after school from the bus stop apparently the time she gets home I would be home. The school is only three blocks from the apartments so I can easily get here to meet her.
She has told me all about her daughter Eliza, who she adopted and raised as a single mother. Apparently Eliza is married with three kids two sons and one daughter their names are Cynthia, Derek, and Will. This is also the exact order they were born in Cynthia is away at college while Derek apparently is in the same grade with me. Apparently he has three friends and they always seem to be getting into trouble. Then Will is a freshman this year at the high school, but apparently Eliza's husband has been cheating on her. But she still stays with her husband and apparently the mistress is moving in with them. Let me just say I am glad to not be apart of that bullshit.
"Ah this is it," Miss. Ganzlie told me, she then stood up as the bus came to a stop I stood too as she got on the bus. "See you at four," I told Miss. Ganzlie "see you at four," she repeated back to me, I smiled once the bus dove off. I may not have teenage friends but I think I could be quite alright with having Miss. Ganzlie as a friend. I quickly pulled my phone out and pulled up the directions to this mall that isn't far from here. Ok it's like three miles away but I love walking plus I'll pass right by my new school.
I walked along the sidewalk with my earbuds in my eyes listening to the song Juice by Lizzo which is really catchy. I see the school come into view and it was huge I am for sure to get lost. As I go to cross the entry a black car quickly sped by me almost killing me. Welp that's my third near death experience. I looked to see the car pull into a parking spot and four boys get out of the car all laughing and talking. Now usually I'd go walk up to them and punk them, but I haven't even started school yet and really. I don't need a target on my back already and honestly I don't really want to deal with drama.
I just brush it off and kept walking ignoring the feeling that someone is watching as I kept going. The state didn't last long as I looked at the school my hair hiding my scar from peering eyes. I turn my head back around as I kept looking straight wanting you get to the mall soon.
