Chapter 9

"You said it to yourself. I guess you'll need faith." I reckon my very best just to prove something. Mr. Smith smirked and the class gaped at the situation. "I did not see that coming." said Christian with goggled eyes.

(The bell rings)

It's time for lunch. My classmates were amazed and laughed at the same time. I never knew I could be the class clown and a nerd. I guess I had it in me the insanity about matters of consequence. My father always reminds me of that. "We'll sorry to break it to you sir—I guess... I have finished the lesson. After all, I'm the offspring of a genius— just kidding. " I said with a snooty and pure cocky chuckle. I left the classroom and headed to the cafeteria.

(Mr. Smith P.O.V)

Hmm... I never thought Ronald Devis Parker was a genius. How come this kid seems to be familiar? I'm just glad that she didn't skip class anymore. I hope my son will appreciate Father's Day tomorrow. (sigh).

(Zoey P.O.V)

At Ontario Carrigate High School Cafeteria, where people eat and talk about their lives, while I sauntered down to the hallways to get a cafeteria plate with goodies to vanish my barking hunger. I pick it up as quickly and possible.

Then I saw a cafeteria lady named Lidgett. "What's that?" I pointed to a slimly food filled with greenish meat. "That's our slimy toad stew... want to hop in— see what I did there? " I grimaced at her and at her toad stew that she was about to put on my plate. I immediately scooted my plate away to her ladle filled with toad stew. "I would rather want to leap away." I was dejected with sneered. "Suite yourself kiddo." Before I could leap away, I saw a battery station where I could charge my cellphone. I pluck my cellphone with a low battery and give it to Lidgett to charge it while I eat at the cafeteria table. "How much? "I asked. "Much enough to kick your butt Quantum." said Nancy Delise Copper, Tanya's sister. "Get out of my way nerd!" Scorned by Nancy, without thinking any trouble, I immediately let her pass me with her gang and turned my attention to Lidgett. "That would be 5 dollars for an hour." said Lidgett. I gave her 10 dollars and waited for my change, but patience killed me. "Where's my change?"
"Everyone needs change, honey—change in life, change of attitude. Change... "said Lidgett, so I furrow my eyebrows. "You know what —keep the change." I headed to my table with my cafeteria plate filled with my favorite snacks and sat on my chair. While eating —I didn't expect that Christian would startle me by creeping at my back and surprise me. "Hey!" I shouted. Christian sat beside me with his cafeteria plate and sighed. "Hey umm... I'm sorry." he apologized with a pale expression. "It's okay —it's not that bad, you just startled me." I condemn him.

"No, I mean for everything..."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't worry, I 'II make it up for you," said Christian.

I still don't know why he's apologizing to me. Is this some kind of joke? Then Christian saw Roi approaching towards us and he sat on our table with food. "My dudes!" said Roi. "Hey... " I sneered. Then I grimace at Roi eating his disgusting mushed toad stew. I scooted my chair a little to avoid the obnoxious smell. "Ugh... ok" I grimaced hard and avoided myself looking at him. "Want some? " Roi offered while giving it to me in his hand. "No!!! No... No... " I shouted so loud that everyone looked at me. Then Roi's hand backed away.

"Jeez... you know what I 'II just go somewhere else..." Roi stood up, then not any of my expectations— he suddenly tripped and his mushed toad stew spilled all over me. And that's where I got out of control with glazing rage and burning glare. I was ready to take revenge. I immediately clutched one of his mushed toad stews and I threw it at him, but I missed a shot because he flinches. I shot Nancy instead of Roi.

Nancy Delise Cooper gasped in staggered humiliation.
The whole class burst into laughter. Then I got stunned at what I did. I apologize as quickly and as possible.

"I'm so sorry!"

"You're so... going to pay for this— get them!" Then her gang stood up and threw some of their food at everyone, but mostly at us. That's where we started a food fight. Christian got alerted and Roi chuckled. I defended myself, of course. I'm not just going to sit there and do nothing. The food fight got out of hand as we fought with rage and fun. "Stop this instant!" Everyone stopped and gaped at what happened. The place got messy and smelly and I looked like a grudge. We lowered our bullets (food) and I sigh.

"Who started this catastrophe?"

Mr. Smith questioned with a furious expression.

"He doesn't look good," Roi whispered into my ear.

"Sir! —Miss Quantum started the food fight. "said Nancy while giving me the killer look that made me think I was in big trouble.

"Zoey and Nancy come with me to my office!"

"But why me?" Nancy questioned with an overrated yelped like she was a drama queen.

"Just come to my office—both of you!" My Mom would kill me if she found out that I had made a really huge mess. This is worse than skipping school. I shouldn't let my temper get out of hand or my emotions control me. Now I'm going to be punished or even worse. I accepted my defeat and picked up my backpack and saunter to the hallways and headed to Mr. Smith's office looking glum. I have already cleaned up and Nancy cleaned up too. I somehow felt bad about Nancy and Roi.

"Professor Zach Quantum Caliyous... " I stopped for a moment and eavesdropped outside the door for my inquisitive curiosity.
