"It was just suffocating--until I met you—my life wasn't-- the way  I wanted it to be, and even if I tried--, it wouldn't be the way it is--. " She struggled to speak with pauses from her tongue. I could tell she was choking on the inside.

"Having a star and a promotion from prison changed me to something new than living with the same emptiness as it was before. The jail held me at my best for the worse—I got sexually abused, got bullied, and many more... but because of that, I escaped from prison, leaving my star as a sentimental souvenir—and I started to be illegal. Being an assassin was just my part-time job. I even sold drugs to keep myself alive. That's where I met my boss, Mr. Smith. He ordered me to spy on you and get what he wanted, leaving no sign of track and killing you piece by piece. I got used to my job, but this kind of case is different than I expected. You somehow gave me something I never felt before. Watching you was like seeing my innocence—as I saw you living with the orphans and your family with love, it made me think I didn't deserve it. You taught me to feel mercy and love—that's where I changed my perception. " Holly Joy confessed from her tongue and I didn't know how to respond to her confession. I only see it as a crutch.

We poured out our tears and sobbed through the night while glaring at each other. It was the night I will never forget. I parted my ways away from her and left her out in the dark. I couldn't dare to forgive her because she was bewildered and cynical.
It doesn't even matter if she had a crutch for me, as long as I'm alive, I'll keep blazing like a fire to overcome this world. I hate the fact that I'm a relentless human being. It's cruel. We never spoke later that night until dawn.

"We need to go somewhere else or we'll get captured... "

"Yes Roi!"

"I know a place..." emblemed by Christoper. We packed our things up and started a journey to follow Christoper, which was tiring.

"Where are we going, Christoper? "

"You'll see..." said Christoper with an endless grin of joy, although it creeps me out.

After the long ride in the heat, we arrived in the middle of crowded people.

"This is the Jordan river... "

"Are you seeing what I'm seeing Christian? " Roi wheezed because of thirst. We also felt thirst and hunger. Christian replied to Roi.

"A Bigfoot? "

"No—wait... what? "

The man's clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist that appeared towards the crowd.

"Should they be scared of Bigfoot? "

"That is not Bigfoot—he is John the Baptist," said Christoper with a soothed voice that slurred Roi.

"Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near!"

"What is that supposed to mean?" I questioned Christoper while he was gazing at John the Baptist.
"We better find some place to stay or we'll get stranded  here..." fussed Joy with  sarcasm. "That is not the only reason why we're here."
Christoper fled from us— we have no choice but to follow him because there's no direct path in our lives, there's no reason to live and we don't know where to go because we are stuck here and know that we will disappear from existence. Suicide thoughts filled my mind, but I just don't know where to start.

"John!"

"Christoper! "

They hugged and greeted each other.

"You guys know each other?"

"Of course... "

"I grew up here, Zoey."
I couldn't take my eyes off of Christoper's grinning. That made me grimace for an hour.
"Are you okay?" I immediately fixed my expression towards Christoper.

"Let me help you, Joy."

"Thanks Nat."

"Nat? "

"Umm.. short for Nathan."

"Ohh... okay."

"John... what's happening? " I questioned him. "People from Jerusalem and from all of Judea and all over the Jordan Valley went out to see and hear John. And when they confessed their sins, he baptized them in the Jordan River, "said Christoper.

"Are you John?" I chuckled and grimaced towards Christoper. "Ohh... I'm sorry."
"It's fine." I sighed—and then John saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to watch him baptize. He denounced them. "You brood of snakes!" he exclaimed. "Who warned you to flee from God's coming wrath?— prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. Don't just say to each other, 'We're safe, because we are the descendants of Abraham.' That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones. Even now, the ax of God's judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire. I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I'm not even worthy of being his slave and carrying his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn and burning the chaff with a never-ending fire. "
A reliving sense of adrenaline rushed into my nerves as I heard those undefined words coming from John the Baptist.
