People think Tanya Cooper is the boss of me in public, but when it comes to a secret conversation—she can't stand me. I'm the boss of her, but actually, her only intention for me is to join her preposterous clubs and do her biddings as always, so I guess I wasn't the boss after all, but for me I am the boss. I walked through the hallways—all the way to my classroom and there I was, tolerably late as usual.

I gritted my teeth brashly at everyone as I saw Tanya smirk and chuckle like a witty leech. It made me think that the paper card she gave me was some kind of a trap for me to be late to class. I knew it—I shouldn't have listened to her. Christian sigh at me to give me a sign that I ditched him when he was in the bathroom—why do I keep ditching people while they're in the bathroom? I ambled sheepishly toward my chair and sat, then our British teacher, Mr. Smith, caught me lingeringly creeping on my way to my chair.

"Miss Quantum... I am tremendously surprised you didn't skip class!"

"Yeah me too." I said with a sneer and started to imitate his accent. Then Mr. Smith gave me the look that I should make a great excuse. Why am I late?

"Well... care to explain?"

"You can clearly see that I hit the ice... with my jersey on. Yup! " I had to think of something, but I guess this is the best offer I can have. I really liked it when I started to speak British.

"Yes... " I clear my throat sheepishly.

"Well that's fair enough then, you shall be sitted."

"Pardon me sir... " I sit down on my chair and do my school stuff.

"According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says that God doesn't exist... "said Mr. Smith. I gaped at what he said and grimaced to look at him and felt confused. "Science says you have five senses that you use to identify and observe the world around you. Have you ever seen God? No, right? In that conclusion, we see that he doesn't exist at all. " he proclaimed. I cleared my throat and stood up.

"Excuse me sir —I respect your beliefs but I am offended by what you said. I get it... you don't believe in God— I see that you're an atheist but please respect others' beliefs. " I condemned him sternly.

This time I didn't imitate him because I was formidable again and offended. Is it because I disrespect him by imitating his accent? No, actually we get along together. He doesn't mind if I imitate him as usual because it's a friendly reminder of how I admire his teaching. Unfortunately, I changed my mind because of what he said.

"I see— I see—I see... you're a Christian, aren't you? "

"Yes, sir and I believe in God even though I'm a sinner."

"Is... God good? "

"Yes indeed —all the time"

"Then why does he want us to suffer from this world he created and he created evil and good because he created everything. Remember Satan? Then he is not good. "

"You remind me of someone sir and a very clear vivid situation. Hmm... " I said and thought. "Perhaps I should explain... I know I can't see God but I have faith an—"

"See! faith, that's it. And that is the problem science has with God. There is no evidence, only faith. " I interrupted him as well, "You didn't let me finish sir." The room suddenly became very quiet. "According to Albert Einstein or science, heat exists but we don't have anything called 'cold'. We can hit down to 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, right? But we can't go any further after that because there is no such thing as cold; otherwise we would be able to go colder than the lowest-458 degrees. Everybody or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat. You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. And that's not all. It is also similar to darkness. Darkness is not something; it is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, flashing light, but if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness. That's the meaning we use to define the word. In reality, if it were, you would be able to make darkness darker. My point is. 'You argue that there is life and then there's death; a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood, either one. And you believe that humans evolved from monkeys, but you haven't ever observed human evolution with your own eyes, sir. "

Mr. Smith tucked in his tie and gulped. "I guess you'll need faith. ", said Mr. Smith with defeat. "Now, you accept that there is faith, and in fact, faith exists in life. Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when a man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light. And... did you know? I got this information from Albert Einstein, because, as I said earlier, you reminded me of a vivid and Albert Einstein once said 'The more I study science, the more I believe in God, so he believed in God. What makes you think God does not exist? "
