Just who does that brat think he is!? Threatening me like that..! How could he-

My thoughts ended abruptly when I noticed that a kinder first year - Tadashi - had glanced towards my way, a concerned look on his face.

"Oh, hey Katsuro. You okay?"

He seems nice enough... It's hard to believe he always hangs around him.

"Yeah. I was just coming for another practice."

I paused when I noticed Tadashi struggling to carry some boxes.

"Need some help carrying those? I don't mind."

Even though I had presented that as a question, I ended up taking half of the boxes from him without letting him answer.

"You really don't have to do that. Especially after how Tsukki had treated you last time."

... Tsukki..? Is that a nickname..? I'm surprised Tsukishima would allow someone to give him a nickname.

"I suppose so. But I don't let stuff like that get to me. Besides, the rest of the team seems fairly nice."

Tadashi looked up at the ceiling, seeming lost in thought for a moment.

"I suppose that's true. But even if Tsukki can seem harsh at first, I promise he's actually a great person!"

I smiled softly, seeing how genuine he was being.

"What?" Tadashi questioned, seeming scared at my smile.

"Oh, nothing. It's just cute seeing you try to convince me that salty boy's a good person."

Tadashi seemed to stop in his tracks, right outside the door to the gym.

"It's... cute?"

... !

Why did I say something like that?! I should've known better! Coming from a 'guy', that must sound so confusing!

"Just forget it. Come on, we need to get these boxes to Shimizu-senpai over there!"

Quickly brushing the conversation aside, I quickened my pace as if to run away from the conversation.

"Oh, hello Katsuro. Did you run into Yamaguchi on your way here?" Kiyoko questioned, rummaging through the boxes as she did.

"Yeah, I did. Decided to help him out since he seemed to be struggling to carry all the boxes."

Tadashi seemed embarrassed to hear someone state that he was struggling with the boxes, and simply headed off to start his warm-ups.

"That was very kind. Thank you."

While this seemed like a very simple, straightforward response, it seemed to gain a lot of attention. Specifically from Tanaka-senpai and Nishinoya-senpai.

"Kiyoko's so beautiful when she thanks someone!"

"I should've helped Yamaguchi! No fair!"

Are those two... in love with Shimizu?

"Come on you two, let's get to work."

"Yes sir..."

How can those two get so excited, then instantly go downhill? I honestly can't understand people like that...

"Hey Katsuro, nice to see you back." Daichi said with a wave as he approached me, "Does this mean you're giving our school a chance?"

I nodded softly.

"I suppose you could say that. I'll probably have my answer by the end of this practice. But please, don't feel pressured. Just do what you guys always do. I'll be able to catch on quick."

... Like I don't already know the answer... Unfortunately...

"Alright. Just don't push yourself. Wouldn't want a repeat of last time."

I nodded softly.

"Yes sir!"

Daichi seemed a bit taken back by this.

"Well... I'm going to go back to the serving practices. Join us once you finish stretching."

He then ran off to the other guys.

He was there as well, just smirking his ass off...

I'll show him...!

"Alright, let's clean up for the day."

"Yes sir!"

Although the others stated I didn't need to, I did my own share to clean up the place, not wanting to seem like an outsider. Besides, I need to be here to tell them the news.

"Um, Sawamura-senpai, may I speak with you for a moment?"

Turning around with the volleyballs he had just picked up, he nods.

"Sure." He says, tossing the volleyballs into a nearby basket, "What's up?"

"I need to give you my answer."

Even though I was only talking to Daichi, it was easy to tell others were listening in.

"I decided that I would join your team for the upcoming tournament... As long as that's okay with you."

Although Daichi seemed taken back by this, he most certainly wasn't disappointed.

"Really? Really?! Oh, ah, great! Glad to have you on the team."

And at that moment, I was basically charged by Hinata and Nishinoya, causing all of us to fall over since I couldn't hold them up.

"Come on guys, you're going to make him leave if you keep pulling stunts like this." Daichi stated, almost sounding like a dad...

"Right, sorry..."

Both boys stood up, and were quick to bow in apology. It was really embarrassing if I'm being honest.

"You don't need to apologize. It's fine, really. I'll just need to coordinate with my school, as well as figure out how I'm going to get to you guys for the games."

"Of course, we'll talk to the staff on our end. We'll make sure your time isn't wasted."

I smiled.

"Thank you again for having me. I suppose I'll see you tomorrow for practice."

Grabbing my things, I ended up speed-walking out of there since Kageyama kept trying to question things about his sets and how I would like to be set to. With how fast he was talking, I couldn't help but wonder if he was even taking time to breathe.

Guess this is my new team after all. I suppose I should just get used to it.

"Hey Tsukki!" I stated as I ran up to my best bud, who seemed to be nonchalant, as usual.

"What is it?" He questioned, almost seeming a bit annoyed.

"I suppose I just had to ask... A few days ago I asked if you thought that Katsuro would join our team, and you stated something along the lines of 'absolutely, no doubt about it'. And today he joined our team and all... I just have to ask, how did you know that he would join?"

Tsukki simply chuckled, placing his headphones back on his ears.

"I just have a knack for things like that."

We then headed to our homes in silence, which was nothing unusual. But I couldn't help but question how Tsukki would know something like that...
