Maybe change isn't bad - Payton Moormeier

Its the end of my third week here. Not much has changed, I still want to go home but maybe a little less. I've become good friends with Liv and Maddie. Payton decided to become my maths tutor because I suck at maths and I'm his Spanish tutor because he sucks at Spanish and I'm actually quite good at it. We've also become close friends.

School just finished for the week and I'm in my room listening to music when the door opens and startles me until I realise its just Payton. He puts his bag down and gets out his maths book.

"Ok so I wasn't listening in maths, what's the homework" I ask

"20 questions on the page we were working on today" he says

"Omg that's going to kill me. I don't know shit about maths" I say getting out my maths book

"Well maybe if you payed attention you would understand" he says

"Tried that and it didn't work so I gave up" I say starting at the questions

Like always I need help with most of them. Once we've finished maths we get started in Spanish but don't finish because Payton became to whiney. I turn the tv on and sit on my bed next to Payton, I lay my head on his chest as I watch tv. My phone starts raining and I pick up. I see Esther's face on my screen.

"Hey" I say

"Hey" she says back "Who's that" she asks

"Payton" I say "are you high" I ask before she can ask anymore questions about us

"Yeah when aren't I" she says "How much longer till your home" she asks

"Three more months till thanksgiving" I say

"Three more months till the fun starts again" she say

"C'mon it has to be fun without me" I say

"But its not the same, you bring the good alcohol" she says

"I know but I'll be back soon" I say. We talk a little longer before she has to go.

I continue to watch tv until I hear the door. I walk out of my bedroom and the others are here. I sit next to Jordan who sat on the sofa. The boys got back from football practice and the girls got back from cheerleading.

"There's a party tonight" Liam say

"Where" Maddie asks

"At one of my friends houses, its off campus" he says

"When does it start" Jordan asks

"10pm" Liam says

"There's no way we would make it there and back before the gates close" Liv says

"Why don't we climb the gate" I say "me and Payton did it the other week. Its not that hard"

"That's a good idea" Liv says

"So we're going to the party" Payton says

"Of course" I say in a duh tone

We sit around and talk while we listen to music. A few hours before we need to leave the boys leave and we start to get ready. I'm the last to have a shower, once I'm out I go to my room and can't decide what to wear.

"LIV" I shout

"YEAH" she shouts back

"What do I wear" I ask as she opens my door

"I have this cute two piece that you would look really good in" she says

"Oh I don't really do dresses" I say

"Technically is a skirt so your going to wear it" she says

"Fine" I say rolling my eyes as she leaves

She comes back with the skirt and matching top and I put it on. I never wear skirts or dresses, I look in the mirror and I don't look that bad I just look weird. Its a black tube top and mini skirt.

"So do you like it" Liv asks as I walk out of my room

"I guess, I'm not used to it" I say grabbing my black doc martens that's are by the door and puting them on.

Soon the boys arrive and we leave, its half an hour until the gates close for the night. Me and Payton are walking behind everyone, their not that far in front.

"You look good tonight" Payton says looking at me

"You saying I don't look good every other day" I say offended

"No, no I-" he stutters

"Chill I was joking, thank you, you look good too" I smile ay him, he returns the smile and we catch up with the others

It only took us 20 minutes to get to the party. When we're outside the house I can already smell the alcohol and sweat, the house is crowded and I instantly lose Liam, Liv and Maddie so I'm left with Jordan and Payton. We make it the kitchen I get us some drinks.

"Fuck Kaden this is strong" Jordan says wincing as he takes a sip

"Your just a pussy" I say as he pours his out and makes a new one and Payton takes a sip of his having the same reaction

"How can you drink that" he asks getting a new drink as well

"I don't know kinda just built up a tolerance" I say downing the rest of my drink

I get another and we start walking around the house, we find the other in the garden. We stay out there for a bit before going into the house and dancing. A few hours later and the others are drunk and I'm tipsy. It's about 1am, I go find Payton sitting on the sofa in the living room.

"We should get going" I say to him over the loud music

"Yeah, lets go find the others" he says getting up. He's the most sober out of the others.

We eventually find everyone and leave the party. I'm helping Maddie walk Payton is helping Liv and the boys are alright by themselves.

"We should go to the shop to get them water" I say once were close to the corner shop

"Yeah ok" Payton says, he's pretty much sober now

We go to the shop and I go in and get a bottle of water for everyone. They all take one and drink it on the way back to the school. Me and Payton go first to show them how its done. I jump back down and help Liv and Maddie because their still drunk. We get back at 1:30am, the boys go back to their door and Payton helps me with the girl, once their in bed I get changed and sit on the sofa and turn the tv on.

"Can I crash here tonight" Payton asks me

"Yeah of course" I say flicking through channels and stop at the friends re-runs

"You watch friends" he says sitting next to me

"Yeah its a good show" I say in defence

"You know what's better" he says taking the remote out of my hand

"What" I ask

"Stranger things" he says turning on Netflix

"Oh never watched it" I say

"You what , we're binge watching it" he says turning it on

We starts watching it and its actually pretty interesting. I get tiered half way through the second episode and rest my head on his shoulder, he wraps his arm around me.

"Your so cute" I hear him say before I fall asleep.
