Authors note: This is set after Endgame. In this Natasha and Tony didn't die (I'm still in denial) and the base has been rebuilt. Sorry for it being a bit different than what you had originally requested. I had started writing then went back to your request as saw that I had part of it wrong. I hope this is okay. 

And I went back and read some of the stuff I wrote when I was and sixth grade and I got one question for myself: what the hell was going on in my head at that time??? Everything is so angsty and horrible. Ew

     It was a slow process. Healing. Sometimes it takes a few days, sometimes it takes a few years. You never know. In the case of the Avengers, it was a 3-year healing process. It took at least half a year for everyone to be all healed up and able to function properly. Everyone had scars; mental and physical. Tony spent a lot of time in the hospital and therapy. Nat too. They did almost greet death.

You spent your share of time in the hospital too. The purple a-hole impaled you with his big ass sword and that took forever to heal. But that wasn't the worst part.

The base was completely destroyed. We're talking total decimation. That took about two and a half years to rebuild considering the land was completely destroyed too. So now you were in the new base getting settled.

As you finished making your bed, your boyfriend, the infamous Bucky Barnes, walked in.

"Hey, doll."

"Hey, Buck." He went behind you and hugged you by the waist.

     You had started dating Bucky a little after your civil war fiasco. You were on team Cap and you fought so hard to protect him. He fell for you. He fell hard. You had promised Cap to stay with him in Wakanda. Even when he was under, you stayed with him. That made him fall for you even more. You two made it official a few weeks after he came out of cyro. After that, you've been inseparable. So after your final battle, you both moved into the compound and shared a room.

     You turned around in his arms and planted a kiss on his lips. You went to talk but a chime from your phone stopped you. It was a notification from Fury. You had a mission to go on ASAP. Why? HYDRA. Even though Thanos was dead, HYDRA still existed.

"I'm sorry Buck, but I've got to go. Fury needs me on a mission." You pulled away from him. He grabbed your hand before you could get to the closet.

"What? No. You aren't going."

"Buck, come on. I have to get ready." You tried to pull away but he wouldn't let go.

"I don't want you to go alone." Bucky wasn't cleared to go on missions due to his past. Even though Shuri got rid of the trigger words, no one wanted to risk it. And hated when you went on missions without him. It made his anxiety shoot through the roof and he got so worried. 

"I won't be alone. Nat will be with me."

"I know. But she won't always have your back. What if you get separated? What if you run out of ammo? What if - " You stopped him with a kiss.

"I know you're worried about me. But I can handle myself. You know that."

"I know. But I just can't help but worry. These guys have all kinds of tricks up their sleeves. And I can't bear to lose you."
