My Hero ~ Tony Stark x Reader

This was a big mistake.

Scratch that; this was a tremendous mistake.

"Go on a camping trip, they said. It'll be fun, they said." I grumble under my breath. I'm now lost in the forest with a video camera, and my phone as my only protection. And to make things worse, it's pitch black out. How did this happen? You ask. I'll tell you why.

Flash back.

"Hey, Y/N, can you go get us some more fire wood, please?" My head pops out of the tent that Tony and I were sharing.

"Yeah sure." I reply. I crawl out of the tent and walk into the forest to find some firewood. Most of the wood near the campsite was moist and wouldn't work for a fire, so I had to journey farther into the forest. I had started to collect some sticks that would be perfect for a fire. I was unaware that I had journeyed farther away from the campsite and into the woods. When I had a sizable amount of wood I turned back and walked back towards my friends. The walk had been quiet. Almost too quiet. I stop and do a 360; looking at my surroundings. I had an eerie feeling about all of this. A growl comes from behind me. I pivot on my heel, only to become involved in a Mexican standoff with some wolves.

"Hey there....I don't want any trouble, so I'm just gonna-" I slowly lay down the wood, preparing my self in case I need to run. Evidently, the wolves take this as a threat and advance on me. I make a mad dash farther into the forest; the wolves still hot on my tail. I spot a low branch that I could grab and swing myself onto. I follow through with my plan, and soon I'm up high in a tree with wolves barking at me from the bottom.

"Looks like I'm gonna be here awhile." I mumble. And sure enough I was.

It was 11:40 PM. The wolves had left about an hour ago but just to be safe I stayed up in the tree a little longer to make sure that they were really gone. My phone buzzes; someone's calling me. I pull it out of my pocket and look at the caller ID. Iron Ass was plastered across the top with a picture of Tony underneath it. I hit the answer button and Tony's voice starts yelling at me right off the bat.

"Y/N, where the hell are you?! You've been gone for two hours!!" Tony shouts.

"I got into a little trouble with some wolves. I had to climb a tree to get away from them." I say as I carefully scale back down the tree.

"Call me if anything else happens. We're coming to look for ya'."

"Okay. Make it quick though. I have a strange feeling that I'm being watched." I sit down at the base of the tree and end the call; I was bored out of my mind. I pull out my video camera that I just so happened to have and get the idea to video this mishap. I turn the camera on and hit the 'record' button.

"Okay. So I was sent to get some firewood for a campfire. sounds like an easy job right?" I ask no one in particular. I was about to say something but was stopped when a howl that could only come from a wolf was heard. I quickly get up.

"And that is my cue to leave this place." I say as I walk away from the spot where Tony told me to stay. I would like to not be eaten by wolves; thank you.

End.

That was about a hour and a half ago. I was still video taping my 'adventure' as I continued to wander through the forest. I got bored while I was walking and So I decided to mess with my camera. I was looking around when I spot a small button.

"Let's see what this does." I tell myself I press it and the camera goes into thermal mode.

"Whoa." I point the camera at my feet; red can be seen where my feel are, along with some yellow and gray around them. I bring the camera up and look around the forest with it. I immediately freeze where I stand. I pull out my phone and call Tony in haste.

"Y/N, is everything okay?"

"T-Tony?"

"Y/N, what's wrong?! Talk to me!"

I want to say something, but my voice refuses to work. I look through the camera again to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. All around me, I can see the heat profiles of hundreds of people. They're surrounding me.

"Y/N!? What happened?!!"

"I was messing around with my camera and discovered thermal mode. Tony, it is showing hundreds of heat profiles surrounding me. I can't see anything around me." I say in a whisper.

"Y/N, don't hang up no matter what. I'm tracking your phone now, I'll be there soon."

"Hurry!" I whisper shout. I don't end the call or turn off the camera. I take a look through the lens again. They're coming closer.

"TONY! They're coming closer!" I shout into the phone.

"I'm on my way!" He shouts.

I don't take my eyes away from the small screen on the camera. I blink for a second, and the heat profiles on the camera are gone. I stare in disbelief.

"Tony, they're, the heat profiles are-" I couldn't say anything else because a horrendous creature that resembles that of a zombie walks out of the shadows. I scream in fear and take off running. More 'zombies' start to appear and chase me.

"TONY!!" I scream into my phone; I somehow have not dropped it. I keep running until I somehow reach a cliff. I back up slowly, the creatures still advancing. I keep backing up until my foot slips a little. I look down; it's at least a thousand foot drop. One that would surly kill me. I look back to the 'zombies' that are nearing me. I have nowhere to go. Just as one was about to reach me a blue blast sends it flying backwards into the others. Another beam basically obliterates them. I look behind me to see my beloved boyfriend and hero; Tony. He flies over to me, removes his mask, and engulfs me into a loving hug.

"Don't ever leave my sight again. Got it?" He mumbles into my neck.

"Got it-" I pause and a smile forms on my face. "my hero." He pulls away and says,

"Damn right I am." He smirks.

"Tony did you find her?" The faint voice of Steve asks through Tony's comm.

"Yeah, Cap, we're heading back to camp right now. And you might wanna pack you things unless you want to stay here with some zombies."

"Roger that." I chuckle. Tony picks me up bridal style and gives me a peck on the lips.

"Home?" He asks.

"Home."
