Dane's POV:

"Ugh! Winter's nearing and Pitch took mum, Madeline and Lewis! He's gonna pay for it!"

"Patience. Who knows? They might have gotten out alive. Let's finish the transporter by tonight."

Joy grunted. I swear, she loves and hates her mother at the same time. "Oooh!" Joy suddenly exclaimed. "What are you doing back there?" I asked her, not turning one bit because I'm too busy with the transporter. "Ye know, after ye finish that transporter, ye could probably work on something too." She said and I turned back at her. "Like what?" I asked her. "Weapons." She said showing me my past sketch of a sword. It was supposed to be my gift for Joy since she's captain of the Archery Club and I figured she loves weapons, but now she knows, it can be a gift but not a gift. Get me? Okay, that's confusing.

"Yers can be this! The sword. And ye can give me a bow and arrow so I can use it at home too."

"Wouldn't your parents be angry about it?"

Joy put down the sketch. "Only my mum. But she's not here, is she? Besides, who knows when they'll get home?" Joy said, frowning. "It's alright. Let's just figure how this transporter works." I said, and she sat beside me, also working on the transporter. I opened the book, scanned every page that could help us, while Joy was busy playing with the Rubik's Cube. "Do ye know how to play?" She asked me. "Of course. And if we need to use it, I will turn it until it has the easiest so with one turn, it can trigger the portal." I told her and she just smiled.

*RING*

"What's that?"

"My phone's buzzing! Unknown number though."

Joy and I were confused if we should answer the number. "We should take risks." I said. "It could be Pitch, prank calling us! Or Lewis's doppleganger!" Joy said, hesitating. "No time! Answer it! It might be Lewis and Madeline, or if not, it maybe a person who found where they are!" I said, and Joy answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Joy! I'm glad you answered! I almost thought you wouldn't!"

Joy gasped in surprise. She jumped up form delight. I'm guessing it's a good call! "Madeline, is that you?" I asked over the phone. "Put me on speaker!" Madeline said, and Joy did. "Dane, Joy! We're so glad. But, we're here to bring you good news! And time's running out." Madeline said. "Why, is Pitch still holding ye captive?! Is my mum there?" Joy asked. "No, we escaped! I'm in a phonebooth. And yes, your mum's safe Joy and I believe she wants to hug you tight when we get home." Joy smiled. "I love ye mum!" She said over the phone. "Save that for when we get home. Lewis and your mom is outside the phonebooth, sitting on a bench. Although, we should ask you...how long is a train ride from Pennsylvania to town?" Madeline asked. "Why?" I asked her. "When we got out of Pitch's chambers, we ended up in Burgess, Pennsylvania. And, by the way! Lewis fully beared Jack Frost's powers! He flew us out of Pitch's lair! So...anyway. How long is a train ride?" She said. "12 hours. And the time is already 7 am. Hurry up!" Joy told her.

"Madeline, if Pitch suddenly knows you escaped, wouldn't he see you around in school?"

"Oh yeah! Goodness' sake! What should we do?"

Joy smiled. "I think probably the best way to avoid Pitch now is to skip school for the moment!" She said. "SKIP SCHOOL?! What about grades Joy! I'm gonna be removed on the honors' list! I can't have that! Can't we think of an alternate solution?" Madeline exclaimed over the phone. "Bye Maddie!!! The train won't be there for long!" Joy said. "But, school is heaven! I can't receive this torture, not like this! Joy-" She hang up the phone immediately.

"Now with that settled, we could probably finish the transporter!"

"No, we can't. The book's energy is not enough. We need all necklaces so we can drain the energy from it!"

Joy sighed. "We're gonna wait 12 hours huh?" She said and I nodded. "Wot could we possibly do for 12 hours?" She asked. "Probably read books?" I suggested. "Read?! Are ye serious? That's why yer life's boring! How about we play charades instead?" She suggested and I sighed. "Fine." I just want to pass the time so we can finish the transporter.

-------------

"It's 7 pm and Madeline and Lewis aren't even here yet! I do hope they're in town now."

"Any moment they'll be."

Joy and I waited for minutes. Suddenly, someone knocked on the shed's door. "Joy, Dane? It's me Madeline!" I opened the door and saw Madeline, Lewis and Joy's mom Joy rushed to hug her mother and she shed tears. "Oh Joy, I'm sorry I didn't believe ye!" Joy hugged her mother tighter. "It's okay mum! I'm sorry I've been so stubborn. But, I've been thinking." We gave them a moment first, to make up for the times they've argued much. Joy told stories a lot. "So, here we are. You can power the transporter." Lewis said and removed his necklace and gave it to me. Madeline removed hers too and gave it to me too. I place it on top of the book.

"Guys! My mum allowed me to use a weapon this time!"

"This time only, Joyful."

Joy grunted. "Don't call me that!" She complained. Her mom chuckled. "I do hope I have my real mother right beside me." Madeline said glumly. "Isn't your mother your real mother?" I asked her. Lewis shook his head. "Long story." He said. "Joy, necklace please!" Madeline said and Joy removed hers and gave it to me. I placed it again on top of the book. This time, I removed mine and placed it with the others. The four pendants glowed with their corresponding colors. Mine green, Joy's red, Madeline's yellow, and Jack's was blue. "Think it's working?" I asked them. They all nodded. "It's working perfectly!" Madeline exclaimed, really amazed by the glowing. It suddenly shot a rainbow like with our colors to the Rubik's Cube.

"Wot's happening?!"

"It's working!"

I exclaimed, then the glowing stopped. We wore our necklaces again. "Turn the Rubik's Cube, complete the colors! Will it work?" Lewis asked. "I don't know, but I hope so." I twisted the blue with the yellow, and completed the colors. Suddenly the rainbow-like awhile ago shot something through the wall. It opened a portal!

"IT WORKS!"

"WE DID A GREAT JOB!!!!!"

We jumped up and down due to our success. It worked pretty well! "How do you close it?" Madeline asked me. "Simply by disarranging the colors, I guess." I disarranged one part, and the portal closed. "Ooohh! Dane ye did it! Yer like yer guardian now with yer inventing skills with this transporter!! Such a great kid." Joy complimented me. "Oh, it's nothing." I said.

"Now, to work on our weapons!"

"I like mine to be something for multimedia purposes."

Madeline said. I thought of something and then took my book. "It would be better if we copy their weapons too! But do it as Version 2.0!!" I said. "Make my quiver reload a thousand arrows when it runs out!" Joy said. "Make mine like Jack Frost's staff but add some special effects to it will ya?" Lewis requested and I nodded. "Hiccup's main weapon is his pet dragon but, I think I can do something about Toothy." I said. "Yer cub? But he's just a cub! I don't think he'll handle it!" Joy said. "Pet cub? You never told me anything, 'best friend'." Lewis said. "Do I have to?" I joked him and he smirked. "It says here Rapunzel Corona's weapon is a frying pan. Are you serious Dane?" I nodded.

"Just leave it to me."

------------------------------

Yay! The ifnished the transporter and I have to be honest with you guys, I lacked much writing skills so in this chapter, you can feel my writer's block or my boredom to be exact. But, I got more ideas so, probably I'll get a good chance now.
