Madeline's POV:

"It won't stop glowing!"

"Ugh! My necklace too! It won't stop!"

I tried blocking it with my hair, but the glowing's too strong. "Maybe it's like a phone call! Unless ye answer, it won't stop ringing." Joy said. "Maybe that would work." I said. "But where can we answer it? The place is too guarded. Pitch Black is everywhere! Lewis's necklace didn't even glow. We can't trust him for now." Dane said. "Block it with all your might. We need to hold it and go straight to the 5th floor to be sure." I said, and we agreed to it finally. Mr. Pissa and Lewis returned, and we all acted normal, as if we didn't speak of anything.

"What did he tell you?"

"What? Oh. Mr. Pissa! He just told me to fix the bulletin board at the back."

I was confused. Lewis looked at Pitch awhile ago as if he killed someone very dear to him. "Mr. Pissa, you know who he truly is?" I asked him. "Yeah, our new History teacher. And also, he told me that he's gonna be the substitute adviser for now." Lewis said with a smile. That moment, I knew something's off with him. I gathered with Joy and Dane to discuss the matter.

"Joy, Dane, something happened with Lewis. He's been hypnotized."

"Yeah, thanks for that Captain Obvious. Look at him, he's smiling at Mr. Pissa! What the heck?!"

I glared at Dane. "Of course I'm stating the obvious! That's what everyone does. But for now, we just have to act as if we know nothing. Dane, if he tells you to be his best friend, like accompanies you to a convenience store, be a good friend and do it! Joy, if he teases you like always, don't give in. I mean, act like you always do! But, you know...lessen it up!" I advised them. "How could I lessen it up? When Lewis tease me I blow up!" Joy protested. "Then blow up! Don't show him that you're acting." I told her and she gave me a thumbs-up.

"Guys! What are you talking about without me?"

"N-nothing! Science investigatory project."

I said, and Joy grabbed my shoulder. "Seriously? It's like yer the one giving in." She whispered and I gulped. "I'm not very good at acting alright? Everybody has fears." I whispered back. "I'm part of our investigatory project! Why don't you let me join the conversation?" Lewis asked us. I bit my lip. "Because...we're the ones in charge of the experimentation! You're in charge of the paper remember?" I told Lewis. "Oh yeah. Okay!" Lewis said with a smile and sat down on his chair. I turned to Dane and Joy.

"Wot did Pitch do to him, turn him into a clingy 5 year old?!"

"I guess so."

Joy face-palmed. "His hypnotism is so out of hand! We can clearly distinguish the hypnotized Lewis from the original one!" She said. "Yeah, he's going crazy." I said with a smirk. "Okay class, you're dismissed." Mr. Pissa suddenly said standing up from the chair in front. I picked up my book and carried to the length of my chest so that I would block my necklace. Dane and Joy did the same.

"Guys, where are you going?"

"Um, we have something to do first."

I totally forgot! Lewis will follow us wherever we go! "Let me join you!" Lewis said, and went to Dane. Joy bit her bottom lip in anger and frustration. "Lewis you really don't have to," I said, but he won't listen. He kept talking to Dane. I don't want to do this, but it's for his own safety. "We don't need your presence here...now. Could you just please politely go away and go home? I'm tried of your clingy-self and it's bothersome." I said with a stern voice. "Madeline, since when was your attitude so demanding?" Lewis asked me, and just went away. I bowed my head down as Dane and Joy approached me.

"It was for the best."

"Was my tone that demanding?"

I said, and my voice was becoming hoarse. "No, ye did for his own good. Ye were fine." Joy said and I smiled. "Yeah, you're right." I said with a forced smile. I'm not really fine with people confused with how I speak or how I say it... Their confusion makes me sad. "Anyways, let's go to the 5th floor and connect with our guardian! Who knows what message they bring us?" Dane said, and we continued upstairs. "Let's go to class P-09!" Dane said, and followed him. "In this classroom, if Pitch looks for us, we can always sneak our way out to R-08." He told us and we sat down on the floor. "Hm, any ideas how to connect with them?" Joy asked. We shook our heads.

"I can't even think of a way,"

"Or maybe, we don't have to think at all! We just have to use ourselves to connect. Not our brains."

We deeply sighed and closed our eyes. I touched my pendant, and it felt like it burned a fire within my soul. The air came rushing towards me. My hair strands flew straight up and my skin had goosebumps. "What was that?" I asked them. Joy and Dane touched their pendants too and the same thing happened. "Nothing's happening yet! Let's hold hands and make it a real connection! Like the wires from each building to generate electricity!" I said, and we did. Suddenly a light wave came from us bouncing to every direction. A hologram of Rapunzel, Merida and Hiccup showed up in front of us.

"We're glad you figured out how to connect with us!"

"It's hard ain't it aye?"

Joy gave the Merida hologram a thumbs-up. They were so alike. "But we bring grave news!" Hiccup exclaimed. "Your friend Lewis is in danger. Jack cannot connect to him, and that's a sign that something was wrong. Save your friend, and defeat Pitch!" Rapunzel said. "What exactly happened to Lewis?" I asked them, and they looked at each other. "Pitch did something to him...we just don't know what." Hiccup said. "All we know is that Pitch turned him into some kind of a 5 year old guy!" Joy exclaimed. "That's all we have to say. Remember to connect with us again if you have a problem. Good luck with your quest dear ones." They said and disappeared quickly.

"I guess that's all they could give us."

"Let's go home now, and discuss this on the way."

Joy and Dane agreed and we went out of class P-09. Good thing was, Pitch Black wasn't there. We ran downstairs and didn't seem suspicious which was great. "Dane, are you gonna go home already?" Dane nodded. "Since I have to work on the transporter Ombric talked me about, I've figured to do it. Also, winter's by Tuesday." Joy and I both nodded as we went to our route going home. "Are ye afraid yer mother might see ye?" Joy asked me and I shook my head. "She has to accept whatever's coming to her." I said, and we went to Joy's apartment. My hair's gonna be safe there...for now.

Wow, I've been fast in updating! Which is reaaaally cool. :))) I love you guys, and I have to finish this book as fast as I can! As you've noticed I deleted my Helsa story. I have to do it again. :)
