Joy's POV:

"Jamie said he doesn't exactly know what 24 means."

"Then how can we possibly find out for sure?"

Jamie, a guardian, not figuring out wot that civilized woman Mantara has put up for us to deal with, is bad. Him of all people should know. "20 is a date, 9 is a day, and 8 is a time! But what in heavens could 24 possibly be? Jamie butt in and tadaa! He's sir Jean! But didn't really tell us what 24 is!" Lewis exclaimed. "If we all just remain calm and solve this without having doubts, it wouldn't be so hard to understand!" Dane said. I grabbed him by the collar. "If Madeline's going nuts, then we can't anymore be calm." I told him. "On the contrary, that's a pretty great point you have!" Dane said and started having doubts as well. Madeline, the clamest person in the group is going insane, then how can we at least solve 24?

"Why don't you look for clues? It must be an answer. So try of thinking anything as an answer!"

"Avery?"

We completely forgot Avery was there. He knew all of our secrets. And surprisingly, we thought he was Jamie! Since they resemble each other a lot, we thought he was Jamie's reincarnation too! But he's not really any fun. He's shy, and doesn't have friends. I guess he's the complete opposite of Jamie. "What do you guys think would be a good answer that would complement date, day and time?" He asked us. "Math answers?" Madeline suggested. "A riddle answer." Lewis said. "No, if it's date, day, time, wouldn't it be-" I cut him off. I'm expert at these things. "Location." I told them. Avery smiled. "I know these stuff because my dad's a cartographer. He creates maps. So come with me to the library and I'll help you with it." Avery said.

"No, how about you join us on our mission."

"I don't know, it seems to be something you guys are destined to handle."

So, that's it! A grid must be it. "So, do we need a map?" I asked him. "Not necessarily. Because there's a lot of places which has 24. Right now, all we need to trust are books." Avery said and Madeline pumped her arm. "Yeah, books!" She said with a smile. She really loves books. "I don't really think we'll be able to find a place there." Dane said. "Alright, why don't you guys pick a book that has something to do with location? And let's flip to page 24." We did as he instructed. I wish there isn't something wrong with Avery. I picked up a book in the shelf. It was entitled "Best Winter Spots in North America". That's cool. I flipped the pages to page 24. To my surprise, it was something I didn't expect at all.

"Woah, is this for real?!"

"I can't just believe it."

Avery grinned. "See? I swear, when you guys were looking for 24, I tried to think what it could be. So I checked every book in the library awhile ago before you talked with Sir Jean and found out every location book's page 24 is about Pennsylvania." He explained. "But how come? It must be coincidence! maybe the authors are the same!" Dane doubted. "No, they're all different." Madeline said. "This must be the guardians' doing. So that it would be easy for us!" Lewis exclaimed. "Yeah, that must be it." I agreed. "So, on August 20, Monday, 8 AM, in Pennsylvania, we will find the answer within us? That doesn't make enough sense than it already should." Madeline concluded. "I guess this is where my work ends." Avery said and let out a very disappointed sigh.

"Hold on a second! Your work isn't ending just yet."

"What do you guys mean?"

Madeline, Lewis, Dane and I looked at each other. And we're sure we agreed on something that easy. "We sure appreciate the help and effort you showed us today! We couldn't be anymore grateful." Madeline said. "I didn't do much." Avery said. "Stop saying you didn't do much! Because without your help, we'll still probably be concluding what 24 means!" Dane said. "And probably, if ye hadn't helped us, who knows wot we think 24 is right now!" I exclaimed. "To make it clear, let's all be friends." Lewis finally said it. Avery stared at us, seem to be like he's still deciding. Then later on he laughed. "Guys! You're really kind towards others, huh." He said, and that's the start of our group, with Avery.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey, Jamie, what are you doing here?"
"Oh, hey Toothiana."
"Toothiana's too formal! Tooth will do."
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"What, that Avery's your reincarnation? You really look like him too!"
"I can see that. Come on, let's play with the other guardians!"
"Seriously? I'm over 500 years old Jamie."
"So what? Come on, play with me!"
"Go play with Jack and the others. The rest of us have some work to do."
"What work?"
"To make sure they succeed!"
"That's all our work. Whatever, let's just wish them a good luck!"
"That is the work! Oh Jamie, seriously??"
"Sir Jean will come back tomorrow too! Time to change the disguise!"
"Your work here is done! Time to go back to the North Pole for you."
"No way~~!"
