I closed my eyes as Marcy, the make-up artist, applied eye shadow to the crease of my lid. "I disagree. Kim got a fat ass, but Khloe is bad on the low."

He gave me a look that said "bitch, please," causing for me to laugh. "Girl, please. Kim is the ring leader. Nobody can tell me otherwise."

I laughed, and opened my eyes at the sound of August's voice. "What y'all in here talkin' about?"

I rolled my eys, glancing at Marcy, who laughed, turning to the vanity to dig through his large array of a make-up kit.

"Girl stuff."

August stuck his hands in his pocket, looking at me through his shades. "Well, I got somebody hea' dat might wanna join in on da fun."

I gave him a confused look as he disappeared out of my dressing room. When he returned, followed by 'Lonzo and  Valerie, I jumped out of the make up chair, squealing along with the two as we ran towards eachother, enveloping eachother in hugs. August rested his back against the wall, chuckling with his arms folded.

Ever since I'd began working under August, I hadn't had the time to physically see them. There had been no girl talks, no sleep overs, no lunch dates.....and it was beginning to take a toll on me. Sure, we'd facetime, and call, but there was never anything like having your best friends by your side.

After we released from the hug, I glanced towards the door, where August had been previously posted. Somehow, he had managed to disappear in the midst of all my happiness. At dinner, I had expressed how deeply I'd missed these two. I sighed, knowing that I'd have to talk to him. Lately, it seemed like he knew all the right ways to make me smile.

"I can't believe y'all came."

Valerie smiled at me, positioning her left hand onto her hip. "Did you really think we were gonna miss your big moment?"

I smiled, showing all my teeth. "But, how did you-"

"August called us. Girl, he booked us the first flight up here."

Alonzo nodded, going through my purse. "And he handled all the fees. We ain't have to pay for nothing; the flight, the hotel.....I guess he is actually good for somethin'."

I furrowed my eyebrows at him, knocking his hand out of my purse.

August had done all of this?

Alonzo interrupted my thoughts, practically thrusting a bouquet of red roses near my face. "Girl, smell these. I stopped and got these just for you."

I laughed, bending towards the flowers and inhaling. I stood, frowning. "I don't smell anything?"

Valerie rolled her eyes, taking the roses from me and sitting them onto the vanity. "That's becuase this fool got them on sale at Walgreens."

Marcy had finished preppng my face, and was now busy tidying up his supplies.

I turned to Alonzo, who smacked his lips. "I wasn't finna pass up that sale. Buy two,get the third one free. Girl, I got my grandma, and my auntie some, too."

Valerie and I glanced at eachother. "How are you gonna preserve them until you fly back home?"

He waved his hand. carelessly, picking up one of the snacks that had been put in my dressing room. "Don't even worry about that. They in the mini fridge."

"Oh, my God." Valerie threw her hands up in defeat, turning to me. "You see what you left me to deal with all alone?"

I laughed, shaking my head. "I'm sorry, things have just been so out of wack. It's been crazy as hell these past couple of months."

Valerie sat down in one of the loung chairs, making herself comfortable. "Do tell."

I took a deep breath before beginning my recounter of events.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Damn." Alonzo bit into his doughnut, shaking his head.

I'd just told both he, and Val, about everything I'd endured over the past few months, from making the decision to work for Aug, to our little disagreement over me dancing. "You been living like a reality show bitch."

I turned to him, furrowing my eyebrows together. "Where'd you get that from?" I nodded my head at the nearly eaten doughnut, confused.

He simply placed the remaining piece into his mouth, dusting his hands off. "It was a whole box on the table."

I glanced over at the table he was referring to, catching the glimpse of an empty white box.

"Well, it's no secret that man has feelings for you. And honestly, I think yours are just as deep for him. I think you should act on 'em."

My head snapped in Val's direction. "Oh, God. Not you, too, Val. I've had to hear this from Trinity....Eve... even Gio."

She laughed, shrugging. "Maybe cause everyone else can see what you don't."

Rolling my eyes, I stood, fluffing out my hair. Doors were about to open, and I, along with the rest of the girls, was supposed to mingle with the guests.

"I'm about to go get a drink. Are y'all coming, or not?"

As fast as Alonzo stood up, I was surprised that his ass didn't topple over. "Hell, yeah."

With both Alonzo and Valerie in tow, I made my way out of the dressing room and to the main floor, where music was already portruding from the surrounding speakers.

A/N: I know this is short, but it's only purpose, really, is to serve as a filler chapter, leading up to the start of the event.
