A young man was hiding in a group of trees, hoping the two woman that were looking around the woods. He knew that he shouldn't have tried to steal food from the huge manor that seemed to always be making waste. He had only ever seen two people in the building that was near the clearing in the woods he had stayed in. For years the thing stayed empty since the old nobles left it alone. Yet here two were, trying to find the man.

He frowned when he didn't hear anything for a bit, peaking out from his hiding spot. That's when he came face to face with a girl who was tilting her head a bit at him. Her short blonde hair barely reached her shoulders with her icy blue eyes looking at him strangely. He didn't know what that look meant and he was scared to find out. She was wearing a red dress that really marked her has noble. He barely knew social classes, but he knew you never messed with nobles.

"Hello," she said softly, clearly not wanting to scare him more. "Who are you?"

"I... I..." he barely got out. He slowly backed away from her into the other woman.

She was much taller than the girl. Her golden eyes seemed to shine in the darkness that was the same shade of her hair. Her hair was somehow shorter than the girls, coming to just a centimeter below her ears. Her dress was not as fancy as the girls; in fact it was simply a black dress with a white apron over it. Looking up at her he gave out a scared gasp, moving closer to the girl.

"Hey, we don't want to hurt you," she told him softly. Normally she would have been terrified to talk to a male she didn't know, but she couldn't help but want to help the man before her. He seemed even more scared than she could have ever been, though she was sure that wasn't fully true.

"You don't?" he asked quietly, looking between the two.

"Of course not. My name is Hope, and this is my maid, Rosalyn. We saw you going through the old food and wanted to ask if you were hungry."

"I... I am. We all are..."

"All?"

"Yes. My family and I."

"Well they are more than welcome to come eat with me," Hope told him, giving him a small smile. "Where are they?"

The man looked at her before he gave a long whistle. In a couple of seconds about nine birds flew near the man, looking at Hope and Rosalyn. There were so many different breeds and colors that it made the young blink and smile.

"You're family is birds?" she asked, earning a smile. "Well than let's go back to my home and I'll get you all fed. Rosalyn is a wonderful cook."

She lead the man to her home. Once inside she finally got a good look at him. He had very messy brown hair that looked like it hadn't been brushed in hears. It kind of looked like feathers. In patches of his body he had brown feathers. His brown eyes were dark, looking around at any noise. The way he moved really did remind Hope of his family members. It made her smile.

Rosalyn brought the two their dinner, sitting them in front of each person. She placed two other plates on the window sill. One was bird seeds while the other was meat from the chicken for the few carnivorous birds. Everyone ate happily besides the maid. She simply stood behind the noble while she ate.

"I never did catch your name," Hope commented.

"I... I don't really have one," he mumbled. "No one's ever needed one for me."

"Well we can pick one for you," she told him happily.

"Really?"

"Mmhm! Now let's see... oh I'm not the best at picking names. Rosalyn, can you think of one?"

"What about Finch?" the maid spoke up, making him blink. He honestly thought she couldn't talk at that point in time.

"That's a wonderful name!" Hope exclaimed. "What about it? Would you like to be called Finch?"

"I... I would like that a lot. Thank you."

"It's no problem. In fact... how would you like to stay here Finch? You can be my footman! We can get you cleaned up, some nice comfy clothes, and you can be my servant and stay with me and Rosalyn. We would love to have you around! And we can make a room for you and your birds. You won't have to be hungry again."

"You mean it?" Finch asked quietly. "I could stay here. With you?"

"If you want."

"I would love that Hope."

From that day forward Lady Everheart found herself a very unusual and one of a kind servant. That's what she seemed to be famous for after all being a high ranking noblewoman with just two servants that no one could ever find the words for. A hellish maid that could rival the Phantomhive and Trancy butlers and a footman who acted like a bird! But she wouldn't trade her new friend for anything. She was glad she didn't let the man go that night like Rosalyn suggested.
