Lukas sighed, staring at his closed book. He was more upset than usually today, not that he would let anyone know that though. Emil wouldn't call him big brother or anything like that. And now his little sister Velvet was starting to be the same way. Sure she usually did, but today she refused to since she had so much to do. She barely even talked to him this past week.
Sure he would ask Berwald and Tino, but they weren't his real siblings. Besides, if a teenager wouldn't do it, why would two grown men do it? Plus he hadn't seen the two much either since they and his Stupid Dane were all on a trip for work. He felt alone. After all, who would want to call a depressed man-
"Big Brother Lukas!" Johanna called, snapping Lukas out of his thoughts. He looked up and saw the little girl running towards him. She stopped before him and gave him a big hug.
"What was that for?" Lukas asked, hugging the girl back.
"Because I wanted to give you a hug Big Brother," Johanna giggled, looking up at him. "Do I have to have a reason to hug you?"
"Not at all," Lukas said, pulling the girl into his lap. "Want me to read you a story Johanna?"
"Ja!"
Lukas smiled, opening up his book and starting to read. At least one person didn't mind calling him big brother when everyone else wouldn't.
