Chapter 23

Bella's POV

As me and Ben walked away, he looked at me with concern.

"Are you sure you're okay bells?" He asked
"I'm fine," I said "I just did a bit of thinking that's all"
Ben nodded and we soon met up with our parents. Mom rushed up to me and gave me a hug.
"Oh, Bella! Are you okay dear?" She asked full of concern 
"I'm fine mom" I replied
"Don't listen to what they say, Bella, you'll be a great queen" Dad said 

A great Queen.

"Um...about that," I said nervously, "I think it's best if Ben is the only one being crowned tomorrow" 

My family looked at me in shock. They clearly wasn't expecting that to come from me considering I've been so excited to share such a title with my brother but I thought to myself and was truly concerned that people would not accept me. People already think that I'm the black sheep of the family so I really do believe its best if it was just Ben who ruled. 

"What do you mean?" Mom asked
"You both are of age to be crowned rulers of Auradon," Dad said
"Yes I know, but everyone thinks I'll do such I horrible job at being queen. So I think I'll just wait" I said "Plus it doesn't make any sense, having Ben and I crowned king and queen at the same time. When Ben is married his wife will have to become queen, it only makes sense if it just becomes Ben's coronation"
"Are you sure this is what you want dear" Mom asked
"My heart tells me this is the best thing to do," I said
"Bella, you can't just drop out of the coronation," Dad said
"I know that...I'll still be there, it's just I won't be crowned queen," I said
"Bella..." Ben started saying
"Ben listen, I know you're scared of being crowed King but having one ruler at a time is better for the kingdom," I said "this way there will be no clashing heads about duties" 
"This is why you should be queen," Ben said
"I'll make a deal, being queen is too early for me but perhaps I can be your Royal adviser," I said

Ben and I looked over at our parents with hopeful eyes. I knew Ben couldn't do this alone, his facial reaction alone proved my theory so the least I can do is promise to be by his side in a different way. 

"I'm not sure Bella," Dad said
"Dad please, it's the best for the kingdom, plus Ben can only be king for so long," I said
"She has a point dear," Mom said
"So what do you say?" Ben asked
"Can I be his Royal adviser?"
"That's not up to me, that's up to your brother," Dad said
I smiled wide and hugged him.
"Thank you for understanding," I said
He hugged me back and kissed my head.
"You just continue to follow your heart," He said "but you will walk in with Ben tomorrow"
I nodded and smiled 

"Of course! Thank you"
I looked over at Ben and smiled
"So am I good enough to be your Royal adviser?" I asked
"I honestly couldn't think of anyone who was better for the job," He said
I hugged Ben and he laughed hugging back.
"It's going to be fun bossing my sister around," He said
"You know that's not what a royal adviser is" I said "A Royal adviser is a mentor or uh Guide, they normally have more and deeper knowledge about a specific area. And adviser help you make decisions about difficult things, it's technically another part of leadership"
"So basically you're my right-hand man?" Ben said
"Basically yes but in this case I'm your right-hand woman," I corrected 
"Cool, you're perfect for the job," Ben said
"Great! Now that's all settled, we will see you tomorrow at the coronation" Dad said
We had a family group hug and Ben and I waved as my parents left. Ben and I said our good night and left to our own dorms. When I walked into my dorm I saw Evie there with Roxanne.

"Hello Evie, Roxanne," I said
"Hey Bella," They said
"What brings you by Evie?" I asked
"You know how I said I was going to make you something?" Evie asked
"Yes, I remember that," I said
"Well you probably already have a dress, but I made you a dress to wear tomorrow"
"You made me a dress?" I asked smiling
"Yes," She said, Evie pulled out a bag and unzipped it revealing a gorgeous red dress. My hands flew to my mouth, I was in awe.
"Evie," I said "this is beautiful"
