Ch#19 Are You Not Afraid of Us?

Another week passed by since the motivational talk. Everyone has become more active and supportive of each other ever since then. I could clearly see the difference and I was happy and proud of myself that I could bring this little change in them. I patted myself on my head for my hard work.

Good job, Al.

My next task was due for today and I had to wait for Dave to call Terrence and Matt. It was the weekend after all. I don't like how I need to wait for an entire week to launch any of my rockets. But as the saying goes, 'no pain, no gain'. My bruises were almost healed and I am now allowed to move around freely.

After lunch, I opened up my luggage and found my diary. I cut four to five small pieces of the cover page of my diary with the help of scissors and stacked them up together and taped it. Perfect size. I hid it in my pocket and went back to the main room. Later at sundown, the spies were called by Dave. I searched for the idiots and two of them were busy with Ellis while the other one, Riley, was asleep. She was feeling sick the whole day. As soon as Terrence and Matt left, I followed pursuit discreetly. The door opened for them and they walked out while I rushed towards the door before it got closed. I quickly took the stack of paper from my pocket and kept it on the doorstep in such a way to stop the door from closing completely. I then hid beside the door in case they would open and check in. But no one came in. I then walked back to the Base. I had to put my plans into action at night when everybody would be asleep. Dave was there above and so I couldn't leave now.

Waiting is the hardest part. I impatiently waited for the night to fall. After making sure that everyone was asleep, especially the idiots, I moved into action.

Why do you keep calling them idiots?

I'm lazy to name them out every time.

Lazy ass.

We share the same ass, dumbo.

I slowly climbed up the stairs and made sure to not stumble over my own feet in this pitch black darkness. Soon enough I reached the door and tried to open it.

Yes! It is open! Thank you heavens!

I almost teared up at my successful attempt of keeping the door from closing.

Drama queen.

And that queen slays, bitch.

I never knew it would be this easy. I left the Base and walked towards Dave's cabin. After making sure that there was nobody inside, I walked in. I looked through his table and the drawer but could find nothing. I scanned his bookshelf as well but nil, nada, nothing. Riley had mentioned that Dave took her pictures in a camera.Ugh! I have to search for that camera! But I can't find it!

After digging around a little more, I found the camera hidden behind the bookshelf.

Eureka!

I checked his photo collection and was disgusted with all the pictures that he had! Poor Riley had to go through all this abuse. I immediately deleted each picture and even removed out the memory card and tried to break it. I then stuffed it into my pocket and kept back the camera in its place. I fished around the place more. There must be something more in here. The reason for Dave and Mr.Hudson to hold us captive. While I rummaged through the files on his table, I heard someone opening the door. My eyes widened in utter shock when I saw who the intruder was.

You are the intruder here, you idiot.

"What the bloody hell? What are you doing here!?", Dave fumed.

Why do I always get caught at the most crucial moment? Ugh!

He didn't give me a chance to speak and stomped towards me. He grabbed my hair and dragged me towards the Base. My poor hair. I'll seriously go bald one day 'cause of this shit face! After we reached the Base, he switched on the lights and threw me onto the floor.

Throw ball champion.

Yeah. I know, right.

The students woke up one by one and gathered around to view the scene unfolding before them.

"I told you all to teach the rules of this place to your new friend here!", Dave yelled. I looked at the students. They cowered in fear.

What the hell!? All of my efforts of last week went down the drain!?

"Bitches like you learn a lesson when your friends get hurt", he scorned at me and glanced at the student body searching for a scapegoat.

So this is how he punished Riley.

His gaze then fell on Ellis. He motioned towards Terrence and Matt to bring Ellis to him. They approached Ellis and held him from either side. I couldn't just sit and watch. I got up and stood confidently before Ellis, facing him and the spies. I shot the spies a death glare and uttered each word with fury, "Let go of him."

The spies visibly gulped fearing me and let go of Ellis. I pulled him towards me and turned around to face a raging Dave. It's time for him to meet an opponent of his match. I do not fear him and will not let the others cower in fear because of him.

"You really are a shit face, huh?", I mocked him and then came straight to the point. "I am the one who broke into your cabin, Dave. Be a man and punish me." Dave did not like it. I could read his frustrating expression.

Now it's Al time.

Get ready for a poo poo with a dash of caca, you shit face Dave.

"What happened, Dave? Did your balls run away leaving you behind?" I smirked at him at his loss of words.

"You may hit me, punch me, kick me. But you will never be able to waver my determination. You cannot touch me. Suck it up, Dave. I will always win against you because I am not afraid of you. And so do the others." I directed my words at both Dave and the students. I wanted them to remember about our discussion. However, what I didn't expect was the smirk. Dave smirked at me when I finished speaking. He looked confident. But why?

"So you think that the students here aren't afraid of me?", he guffawed. I did not waver and glared back at him.

"Dear, dear. It's been just a few weeks since you joined. But the others here, know just how scary I can be. Now let her know, my dear students. Aren't you all afraid of me?", he mockingly asked the students. He was right in a way. The others have lived here longer than I did and they have been abused more than I was. I didn't expect the students to talk back to Dave, but what came after, took me by surprise.

Riley came forward and held my hand. "I am not afraid of you, Dave."

"I do not fear you." Yohan came beside me and held my other hand and Bethany held his. "I too do not fear you."

"I too am not scared of you." It was Louis this time. One by one, all the students came forward and held each others' hands and exclaimed.

"I am not afraid."

"Even I am not."

"You are not scary, Dave."

"I do not fear you."

"We too aren't scared of you."

"You do not scare us."

It wasn't just me who was taken aback. Dave too was surprised by this mass attack. I could see fear in his eyes. This is the time for it.

"Now you tell us, Dave. Are you not afraid of us?" I smirked at him. This was definitely a shocker for him. He was at a loss of words.

"You-you...I am wa-warning you", he stuttered and left in bewilderment. I looked at the students and felt very proud of them.

"Thank you, guys. Really, thank you so much. For believing in my words and following them", I teared up and gathered everyone for a group hug.

The only thing one needs to fear is fear itself. Once you face that fear, you become unrivalled.
