"Wow you've lived in a lot of different places." Ace said amazed, you had joined the five brothers in their backyard.

You were sitting in a lawn chair next to Ace, Thatch was barbecuing some steaks and corn. Sabo and Marco were kicking the soccer ball back and forth  and Luffy was tossing a ball for the two dogs.

Well Chopper was chasing after the ball, Royal just sat on the grass looking disappointed.

"(Y/N) is your dog broken?" Luffy asked you as he tossed the ball again and once again she made no attempt to chase after it.

"She's not broken. Royal just prefers pink tennis balls," you told the youngest brother. Seemingly bored of the game of fetch Royal walked over to you and hopped onto your lap. "And she likes lots of cuddles."

"Sounds spoiled yoi."

"Marco don't say that," Sabo hissed at his pineapple headed brother.

"It's fine. I am the one that spoils her after all," you scratched behind your cavalier's ear; something she loved.

"Is it hard moving so much with a dog?" Ace asked, he'd been talking to you since you agreed to have supper with them. Occasionally he would try to flirt with you, you didn't mind but Thatch would tell him to cut it out.

"No I think I got lucky, Royal loves to travel." Royal gave a small bark at the mention of her name.

"Really? Chopper pukes each time he gets in the car. We have to give nausea medication, which he hates." Ace explained, he looked over to the family puppy who had chosen to abandon his ball and instead wrestle with Luffy.

"I guess that's just how some dogs are. But we won't be traveling for a while, Royal and I plan on staying here for a long time." You smooshed your dogs cute face in your hands and pressed a kiss to her wet nose.

"I didn't think the museum would find a curator so quickly, " Thatch said while he took the corn off the grill.

"I was suprised they hired me, I do mostly freelance work but I do have a degree in religious studies and art history." You told the brothers; after you graduated from university you weren't sure where you wanted to work so you decided to do freelance work for big name companies.

"Well when you're done getting an exhibit put together we'll have to check it out." Ace smiled at you, suddenly it was quiet in the yard except for the sound of the grill and Luffy and Chopper wrestling.

"You want go to a museum?" Sabo asked his freckled brother.

"You never want to do anything that's educational yoi." Marco pointed out.

"Are you feeling alright?" Thatch came over and put the back of his hand to Ace's forehead.

"I'm fine. Sheesh is it so surprising that I want to learn," Ace swatted his brother's hand away.

"YES."

Ace looked at his brothers yelling at him, a blush even came to his face making his freckles pop. You giggled at his shocked expression and how he kind of looked like a strawberry right now.

"I'm guessing Ace didn't get good grades in school?" You chuckled, Ace's freckles popped even more as his blush got darker.

"That's an understatement. Ace almost had to repeat a grade," Sabo smirked as he poked his blushing brother on the cheek. "The only way he passed was by having a tutor seven days of the week."

"Don't you mean sleeping with the tutor yoi?"

All of the brothers, except Luffy who didn't care about the conversation, broke out into a laugh. Meanwhile Ace looked like he wanted to dig a hole and bury himself in it.

"Pfft I guess you gotta pass somehow," you laughed along with the brothers.

Ace just looked mortified at this point, maybe it was because you were poking fun at him as well.

"It's not that funny." Ace huffed out as he crossed his arms over his chest and looked away from you.

"No need to pout," you pinched Ace's cheek that was puffed out.

"I'm not pointing," Ace whined as he pushed your finger away.

"Sure you're not."
