Ezra's POV
Matagal siyang nakatingin sakin habang kumakain ako. Ni-hindi ko na nga magawang kainin yung pagkain ko nang maayos.
Nag angat na ako ng tingin sakanya, "what?"
"I'm just surprised you decided to visit me this day."
"Well, it was supposed to be a surprise. Mukhang effective naman."
He chuckled lightly, "what about work? Anong oras ka umalis sa bahay kanina?"
"Around 11:20, and I didn't do much work earlier, kaya rin maaga lunch ko."
"You should've told me you'll be coming here, napapasok sana kita agad. Sinong nagpapasok sayo?"
"Si Jason.."
Tumaas ang kilay niya sa sagot ko.
Ngumuso ako, "eat, Ezekiel. Don't think I didn't know about you skipping lunches just for work. Alam kong maraming gawain pero sana naman nagpapahinga ka kahit sandali lang. Yung mga kapatid mo nga ay nagagawa."
"Kanino mo nalaman ang tungkol diyan?"
Hindi ako sumagot.
He sighed when he realize I won't give him my answer, "kaya ba nagtanong ka sakin kanina bago ako umalis sa bahay? I didn't know my wife is concerned.."
Umirap ako sa pang-aasar niya, at least save me the embarrassment I'm feeling deep inside. "Eat, Ezekiel."
Sumunod nalang siya sakin dahil sa riin ng utos ko. Good boy.
Naubos na ni Ezekiel yung kinakain niya kanina nang magsalita siya, "are you planning on eating lunches with me from here on?"
"Do you want me to?"
"What do you prefer?"
Para kaming mga tanga. What, we couldn't decide for ourselves? One is dependent on the other, is that it?
"Well, just to be sure that my husband takes care of himself, maybe I'll crash here from time to time, but there will be days I won't."
"Whatever you're comfortable with, Ezra."
Ngumuso ako, "you don't need to know my every decision on things, Ezekiel, you have a say in this."
"I want what you want."
Ugh, there's no winning him!
Kalaunan ay tumunog din yung intercom niya, pareho naming nilingon yun. And I also notice how messy his office desk was the first time I came here earlier. Does he always work that messy?
No, hindi siguro. I've lived with him for two years and I'm sure he's a very organized guy. Nagkataon lang siguro na magulo dahil sa dami ng gawain niya sa trabaho ngayon; si Jason na nga ang nagsabi na tambak ang gawain nila.
[Sir?]
Tumingin muna siya sakin, "may I?" I nodded and then he pressed the button, "yes?"
[Ms. Gomez requests to see you, she says she has something to say.]
"Is she going out?"
[Yes, Sir.]
"Alright, I'll meet her in two."
Tiningnan ko siya, "hindi mo siya papapasukin dito?"
"You're here."
"And so?" Hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili ko sa pagsusungit. Eh ano naman? Let those bitches see me. "Don't you want me to meet your exes?"
