11. Engagement

Ezra's POV

He was restless while playing with my fingers, we're both lying on our stomachs on my bed, we just had an awesome make out and now in the middle of a very serious topic.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked.

I smiled at him and slowly nodded.

"There's no backing down from this, Ez. Kung papayag kang magpakasal sakin, ikakasal talaga tayo."

I held his hand with my other hand, I crouched to kiss his knuckles, "I'm sure.."

"Knowing your father, he'll speed up our marriage process, and you're still studying. Kung hindi mo pa gustong ganito kaaga, kaya ko namang—"

"Hey," I called him, "we're getting married anyway, why prolong this further?"

He looked surprised, and eventually laughed with that hot voice of his. "Okay.. yeah, 'yan yung gusto ko sayo eh, ayaw mong pinapatagal kung mangyayari rin naman."

I stared at him for a few seconds, watched every bit of his moves, whether big or small, did it so lovingly.

"I love you," I recklessly said. And I meant it.

Sabay kaming nagulat sa sinabi ko. He didn't expect it. I most definitely didn't expect it.

All my life, I've encountered so many men, I've had flings, I've had relationships, but none of them compared to how much I am feeling for Danilo. So.. to actually love him.. to admit it not only to him but to myself also.. wow.

"I love you, too." He answered back and I was surprised!

I mean, I expect men easily falling in love with me, it's not that new for me anymore, knowing my power and sex appeal. Naisip ko rin yun kay Danilo pero.. sakanya yung pinaka-hinihintay kong marinig 'yon.

And then, I just felt myself kissing him back as he attacked me with his lips. His kisses full of emotions, and I as well.

I was naive. I thought I knew love back then. I thought I can tell when a person's in love with me. And until in the next few years, I still didn't have the right grasp to actually know Love.

"Tito! She said yes!" Danilo announced when he excitedly descended from the stairs.

Of course Dad was so delighted. Kasi pumayag na ang unica hija niya sa fixed engagement. Kasi yung natatanging anak niya na inaasahan ay bumigay narin.

Dad was really delighted, but my friends beg to differ.

"W-What!?" Brina yelled as she instinctively stood up, Hugo spat his juice a bit, Amora gasped, and Alegre froze. "Ikakasal ka!?"

I nodded, "yes, remember the fixed arrangement Dad planned from the start?"

"Wait, so talagang gagawin mo yung gusto ng papa mo?" Hugo asked, "akala ko ba hindi ka papayag?"

"Wait lang, if ikakasal ka.. paano si Kuya Danilo?"

I just looked at Amora, I wanted to tell the answer immediately but I wanted them to think. Nakuha rin nila yun.

"Si Kuya Danilo yung inirereto sayo sa una palang!?"

"Hoy, teka," our eyes moved to Alegre, "bakit wala akong naririnig sa pamilya ko kung ganoon?"

"Our arrangement is enclosed and very private until confirmed, ilalabas din namin sa lahat kapag pumayag na kaming magpakasal ni Danilo."

"Tangina naman, Ezra, ba't hindi mo sinabi samin ang tungkol dito!?"
