NICHOLAS
She was tying my necktie with expertise.
And her face was so close to mine that I can even smell her hair.
I thought I was going to die.
I am fan girling, I know! Or is it fan boy-ing in my case? Hmm.
"Uhmm...where did you learn how to do that?" I started the preliminary small talk.
"I went to a local university in the province, remember, and part of our uniform was to put neckties." She said.
She looks so serious that I just let her do her thing.
"Et Voila!" She exclaimed. "It's done."
I looked at her work with approval. "Thank you."
It looked meticulously done as always with her and her works.
"Hey, it's the least I could do between you helping me and being one of my oldest friends." She said as we continue to walk towards the flower section of the garden.
A very few guests had been walking beyond this point that anyone could tell there was a lot of privacy.
There was a companionable silence, not awkward or weird for that matter, as we continue to trek and admire the flowers.
I glanced her way and sensed a feeling of contentment.
Now, if I could just hold her hand everything will be perfect.
I noticed that she started shivering as a cool breeze blew in our way.
I quickly removed my cardigan to put it around her bare shoulders.
"I think we should head back." I said.
"You're cold." I explained while examining her outfit.
It looked thin and the top slightly see-through since the shade was a pale yellow. Good thing she was wearing a camisole underneath.
Ahh! She looked so gorgeous!
I shut my eyes as if it was a reflex.
Must resist thinking indecent thoughts!
Ohmm...
"Why did you do that?" She suddenly asked disturbing the temporary inner peace I have created.
I stopped my idle thought and looked at her confused.
She stared at me blankly.
I must have really looked like an idiot.
So, she repeated the question.
"Why did you paint me?" She asked me straightforwardly this time.
My jaw dropped wide open as I tried to close it back.
She slammed a big one all of a sudden.
I have to act cool.
"Because I felt like it." I said.
Stupid! Stupid! This is your chance and yet you blew it.
"I see." She simply said.
Do you? Really?
"I..." I was about to continue my absurd explanation when my phone rang.
She looked at me intently and said, "Are you not going to answer that?"
"Yeah. Sure.", as I stepped back to answer the call.
"Ciao? Si. Saro per la mia strada." I said as I continued to converse.
