Everyone had gone to their sleeping arranged places.

Jennie watched as Jisoo kissed her mom's cheek and told Taeyeon she loved her before she and Soohyun made their way to the lower level bedroom.

Would Jinwoo and she be like that when he was grown? Or was she about to disrupt his life enough that he'd end up hating her?

Leaving the youngest daughter and mother, Jennie went up the stairs and climbed into bed.

Jennie was already settled and under the covers when Jisoo entered the room, closing the door behind her.

Did Jisoo take all the oxygen out of the room?

For some reason, Jennie's breathing was difficult. She listened as Jisoo changed in the bathroom, brushed her teeth, all the normal things.

As Jisoo entered the room, shutting off the bathroom light as she did, she said, "I can sleep on the floor."

"Don't be ridiculous, Jisoo. We're adults."

Jisoo softly climbed in the other side. "I'm sorry Jen," she whispered.

Sorry for this getting so messed up. Sorry for all the hurt I caused. Sorry I couldn't give you whatever it was you desperately needed from me.

It took Jisoo forever to fall asleep. She could tell by Jennie's breathing and restlessness, it was the same for her.

All the while, Jisoo asked herself how they got to this place. Twice they tried marriage, both times failing miserably. And yet, her soul felt empty at the thought of Jennie not in her life.

When Jisoo woke the next morning, Jennie was all curled up, sound asleep, Jennie's back to her.

All Jisoo wanted to do was gather Jennie close. Promise they could make it work.

Jisoo knew Jennie was still attracted to her. But, Jennie said they didn't have what was needed in a marriage.

All Jisoo wanted to do was leave the past behind. Just like they'd been able to do for a couple of months after the accident.

Jisoo thought when Jennie got her memory back it was going to be tough. It was even harder without her memories. All Jennie had were her own written words.

Jennie no longer felt whatever emotions were behind them. She could only assume how she felt.

How was Jisoo supposed to fight that?

Jisoo showered and when she came out of the bathroom she'd noticed she's already risen.

She was greeted with a flurry of activity in the kitchen. She hadn't been noticed, so she stood back and watched.

Jennie and her mom were getting along by famously. As Jennie cooked breakfast, her mom watched, asked questions, and just chatted up a storm.

Jennie welcomed her entire family. This is what Jisoo wanted to hold onto. And for a few short days, her only option was to savor it up.

"Momma!" Jinwoo raced over. "Gramma's gonna make cookies today!"

"Really," Jisoo said as she balanced Jinwoo on her right forearm and walked over to the stove.

Jisoo kissed her mom's cheek. "Good morning," she greeted.

Taeyeon winked back.

When Jisoo went to step back, her mother's expression turned stern. "Sooya, I've raised you better than this."

Jennie was taken back by the change in Taeyeon's tone. She turned her head slightly and saw the look that was identical to Jinwoo's whenever he had been scolded. She smiled at it.
