Before Chloe could think about answering back with another sassy comment, the door to the classroom would burst open with Beca and Stacie strolling in together. Beca couldn't help but wink at the redhead as she walked past towards the back of the room and then sat down.

"Care to share with us why you are late, Mitchell?", Mr Jones asked the brunette with his arms crossed as he watched her swing and lean back on the chair so it was balancing on two legs.

"I'd rather not", she smirked and looked back at him.

"Unbelievable", he mumbled quiet enough for just the front of the room to hear as he turned away and went back to his desk.

...

Later that day, at lunch, Chloe walked through the hallway towards the cafeteria. As she reached the double doors, she stopped when Stacie had called out her name.

"Emergency cheer meeting", she waved her hand and signalled out to the field.

"Alright, I'm coming", Chloe sighed, wishing she could have spent her lunch with her friends instead of getting dragged to yet another pep rally meeting for homecoming this week. "I thought we was meeting-"

Chloe stopped in her tracks as she was shocked at the sight before her. Her words were caught in her throat and she couldn't believe her eyes. Blocking out the whole cheer squad that had built a pyramid behind the person holding a sign, she started to slowly walk forward.

The sign read, "It would feel like scoring a thousand touchdowns if you want to HOCO with me?", but it wasn't the poster that had her in awe. But instead, the person holding it.

Someone she never thought would display such affection in front of not just their friends but also an entire squad of cheerleaders that were all cheering her name.

"B-Beca.. I-I", Chloe stuttered a little, the smile growing wider across her face as she stopped in front of the brunette now.

Beca smiled back, winking as the confidence flowed through her at how flustered she could make the redhead. Soon though, all that confidence and joy of feeling like nothing could ruin this moment vanished when she could see her brother walking towards them.

"Chloe", the quarterback called her name.

The cheerleader quickly spun round, her smile faltering a little as she saw Tom get closer until he stood right in front, taking her hands. She soon realised that this homecoming proposal was coming from the other Mitchell twin, the feeling of disappointment mixed with guilt now stirring in her stomach as he uttered the words.

"Will you go to homecoming with me?"

Chloe knew that she had to say yes. She was being asked in front of a huge crowd and didn't want to embarrass him. She is the girlfriend of the school's quarterback. If she said no, everyone would become suspicious and start to wonder why she didn't want to go with Tom.

She couldn't help but glance over at Beca once more to see her talking to one of her fellow cheerleaders, the sign she had been holding tucked under her arm. The cheerleader she recognised was Sophie, and it wasn't hard to see how interested she was and what sort of direction the conversation was going. The redhead sighed deeply, keeping her feelings hidden through a smile as she turned back to Tom.

"Of course I'll go with you", she stepped forward and placed a sweet chaste kiss on his lips before wrapping her arms around his neck as he would pull her into a tight hug. The sound of cheers and their friends shouting their name caused them both to giggle and smile even more.

"You had me panic for a second there", the football player whispered before smirking to himself and pulling away.

"Well I only go with homecoming game winners, so you better hope you win on Friday", Chloe winked, smiling to herself as she'd instantly forget about her surroundings.
