Chapter 59 - flames

I can't sleep so here's a new chapter

With that said you two had the rest of the day off. Been a while since you actually had some free time.

"We should get ready for the campfire tonight" Vincent declares
"Campfire?"
"Yeah the towns people all hang out at a campfire at night every now and then and this would help you get to know the town!"
"Well it doesn't seem like a bad idea" you shrug

Eventually night falls and you find yourself second guessing yourself.

"How do I even talk to people now?" You ask yourself

You've always been on the run from something or too distant to even be noticed. This is becoming increasingly more problematic.

"But these people are like me!" You throw yourself onto your bed "shouldn't be too hard right?"

You run your hands over your face to hype yourself up and walk out the door. Ironically you find your brother just about to knock on your door.

"Hey"
"Hey"
"Uh you ready?"
"Yeah I'm ready"

You two walk down the stairs

"Just so you know the children are gonna pester you with questions"
"But why?"
"Because you're new here" he opens the front door and continues his path "that and you grew up in the human world
"Thats a reason, I guess"

You can see in the distance the flickering of flames rising from burning wood. There were people mingling and siting by the fire. The fire was as tall as a door and branched out wide. The wood cracks and sparks gently fall.

You can see Zane and a few girls speaking to each other. The have drinks what looks like to be red punch. Zane is chugging a drink and people start chanting

"chug"
"chug"
"chug!"

Zane floats and crushes the cup on his head and yells in laughter. You and your brother walk up.

"Hi Zane"
"Y/n good to see ya" he sees Vincent "Vinse I just found your women" he chuckles "go play nice"

Zane pushes Vincent off in a direction and turns back to you.

"Here" he hands you a cup of punch
"What is it?"
"Just try it"
"But wha-"
"I'll tell you after you drink it"

he tips the cup to your lips making you drink only a little. But the flavor is amazing and You gulp down the whole cup. You feel an aggressive burst of strength and energy and your eyes go red with rage.

"W-well maybe not that much" he regrets
"Haha, that" you speak demonically "is good shit, give me another one" you demand
"Oh god" one of the girls scoffs

You grab a drink from one of the girls and chug the drink, you give out a demonic roar everyone can hear. People start crowding around.

"It's animal's blood from ... From our realm" Zane says with regret he looks around and runs off
"Fuck this is good!"
"her eyes are crazy!" One of the girls says
"Ugh she is so slutty"
"I can't believe she would do something so personal"
"Does she even have a mate?"
"Of course not she was raised in the human world!"

Whispers crowd around and you fade back to your natural form. You desperately look around. Zane rushes back in with Vincent.

"What are you talking ab-" he sees you in the middle of the crowd "what's going on?" He sternly asks everyone

His eyes reach you and quickly places his hands on your shoulders

"Are you okay, What happened?"
"Your little sister just showed her demon skin"

His eyes go wide with fear.

"Its not her fault she didn't know the rules"
"Guess we can call her the village skank" the girls laugh
"What are they talking about?" You turn to your brother
"Fuck" he whispers "okay a Misch demon doesn't show anyone their demon skin, except for their mate"
"Oh shit..." You hug yourself
"Yeah" the girls giggle "its like a human walking naked in school"
