The silken cloth slipped away, exposing a beautiful tiara underneath. Grace inhaled sharply, a hand coming to flutter against her chest.

The crown was extravagant, elegant enough to be worthy of such a title. The entirety of the piece was a handsome French fleur-de-lis design, a gorgeous ivory color.

She stepped towards it, entranced. Francise stepped to the side.

"A rumor says that the first queen created the piece." She chuckled. "Quite the spitfire she was. They say that she demanded the King crown to be black, while the queen's to be white. As a way of saying.... 'He holds the power, but I hold the grace.'" She shrugged.

Grace nodded absentmindedly, her eyes strained onto the beautiful piece of metal. She slowly reached out, taking the delicate piece from the pedestal, turning it with her fingertips. She stroked the crystals with a light touch, terrified to put too much pressure under her fingers and snap the crown.

"What are you doing?!"

She startled, the crown falling from her hands. She scrambled to catch it, clutching it close to her breast before whirling around to the new, deeper voice.

She swallowed hard. Standing before the entry were two vampires. One with tan skin and ink-black hair, the other with fading blue hair and paler skin.

Hunter.

Immediately she lowered her gaze, licking her dry lips as heavy footsteps stormed towards her.

"Who do you think you are touching the crown?!" He snapped.

She swallowed again, gingerly placing the crown back onto the pedestal before frantically beginning to sign.

'I came here with Lady Francise! She pulled me here but didn't tell me!'

"Stupid slave!" The man snarled. "Speak when you're spoken to! Stop flailing your hands!"

She flinched as he gripped her arm, pain flooding towards her shoulder.

"Brother that is enough."

She peeked at Hunter, his arms crossed against his chest.

"That is my pet."

The man huffed, yanking Grace and throwing her into Hunter's arms. She peeked towards the room, her eyes going wide.

Francise wasn't there.

"I will see to her punishment," Hunter said firmly. "But brother, I notice you don't have that servant boy at your side."

She gawked. He was the man the boy was talking about. He smirked.

"Yes, I haven't seen him. Do you know where he might be?"

Grace swallowed.

"I'm not sure," Hunter said quietly. He squeezed Grace's shoulder, causing her breath to hitch. "Pet, do you know where he might be?"

She shuddered.

'I-I left him to sleep in our room....he was exhausted.'

"Why doesn't she speak?" His brother asked, his voice hinting at his irritation. "Did you break her?"

Hunter chuckled.

"No, but the pet shops did. And she said she left him in our room to sleep. Apparently, he was exhausted."

The man chuckled.

"I believe I am at fault for that." He stepped out of the room after placing the cloth back over the crown, closing the doors behind him. "Let's walk and talk, the King will have our heads if he finds out someone had been in the crown room."

Grace allowed Hunter to pull her down the hall, keeping her head low. His brother stood beside her, chatting away about the boy.

"He's quite the sweet thing. Very innocent."

"Didn't he come here only a few weeks ago?"

"Ah yes, he's very clumsy because of that too. Always tripping around and stumbling over his words. He's very fun."

"And how are you at fault for his lack of sleep?"

He began to snicker.

"Well, I've grown rather fond of him, so why not show some affection? The sweet thing is always so shy."

Grace couldn't help but flush at his words. He was so open about his fondness of the sweet boy.

"By the way, what is his name anyway?"

He hummed.

"I'm not so sure myself. I've never asked, I always call him by nicknames."

They turned a corner, heading upstairs. As they came closer to their door, it swung open, a flustered and panicked servant boy tumbling from the inside. He whipped his head to and fro, freezing when they landed on Grace. His face flooded with relief.

"Lady Grace! I am so sorry I fell asleep so long! I didnt mean to be a burden!" He rambled, bowing deeply. "I'm so sorry! I couldn't help it!"

"I'm sure it's alright, pup." The man said, his smirk evident in his voice.

The boy went rigid, slowly peeking upwards. He swallowed before turning and bolting down the hallway. Grace gawked.

"Brother, you're really just going to let him run?" Hunter mused, slipping his hand from her shoulder to her neck. He gave a squeeze, causing her to gasp.

The man chuckled, shaking his head.

"I'll let him think he has the upper hand. It will be fun punishing him."

Hunter sighed, patting his brother on the back.

"Go on and do whatever, my pet and I require some....discussion."

Grace swallowed, allowing Hunter to pull her by her neck into their room, the door locking behind her.

"Are you out of your mind?!" He hissed.
