Grace stared at the floor, her knees pressed to the tile, her hands in her lap.

"Hello father, it has been a long time." Hunter said coldly.

Grace snuck a peek. His father's lips turned up into a smirk.

"That little lady by your feet." His father mused. "She's very quiet. Many pets would be whimpering in my presence."

She went rigid as soft rustling filled the hollow room, followed by thuds vibrating the flooring. They grew louder and louder until they stopped. She swallowed thickly as ink-black boots came into her vision. Her breath hitched as thick fingers latched onto her jaw, tilting up her head. She squeezed her eyes shut. He chuckled.

"She's a smart little thing. Open your eyes little one." His gravelly voice husked.

"Grace, you may open your eyes." Hunter coaxed beside her.

She swallowed, allowing her lids to flutter open, staring into bright red eyes.

The man before her seemed to be in his late 30s, his long hair bunching at his shoulders, shining a pale blonde. His nose was large and honed a bump, his eyes small and sharp. His lips peeked past a small beard. They turned into a smirk.

"She's a beauty." He tugged her jaw. "Stand for me little one."

A chill snaked through her spine as she did as told, standing on trembling legs. He released her jaw, his dark eyes scanning her. She pushed away the throbbing impulse to hide behind Hunter's large frame. She felt disgusting, his repulsive gaze making her stomach churn.

"She listens well. And such a beautiful form too."

She swallowed a whimper. His eyes snapped towards hers, chuckling darkly.

"Do I scare you little one?" He asked in mock sweetness. He tilted up her chin, his breath against her lips. "Why don't I change that?"

Before she could shove him away, Hunter wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her away.

"Father, I would appreciate it if you restrained yourself from playing with my pet." He said darkly. "Especially when I am right beside her."

His father glared at him before smirking.

"Why don't I take her off your hands?" He asked coyly.

Grace paled.

"You can take one of my slaves as a replacement." He continued, sweeping a hand towards the women behind him, each one staring to the floor.

Grace shot a look towards Hunter, swallowing at the hard, smoldering gaze glaring at his father.

"If I had wanted to give her to you, she would have been here long before me." He snarled. He pulled her closer. "She is my pet, therefore my responsibility, I will choose whether or not I sell her away."

His father frowned, snarling before turning his back towards them, storming towards his throne.

"Head to your quarters, we will discuss your birthday party after dinner tonight once everyone has arrived."

Hunter nodded, releasing Grace's shoulders and turning, tugging the leash for her to follow.

"Also," His father's voice called. "Have your pet washed and cleaned. She will need a slave dress."

Hunter whipped back his head.

"What are you babbling about old man?!" He snapped, all respect gone.

His father snarled in warning.

"She is in my kingdom, you should have known that slaves and pets wore the same attire unless they are promoted."

"If she wears that dress she'll be attacked!" Hunter snapped, turning to glare at his father. "She is mute! She already has a disadvantage!"

He said nothing as he tugged at his beard, sighing in annoyance.

"I will have a dress specifically made for her so that everyone knows she is off-limits. Now go, I will send for a servant to take her to be cleaned."

Hunter hissed, a snake-like sound as he turned his hands into fists.

"If I find out she was attacked, I will kill you." He snarled darkly, whirling around and throwing open the door, yanking at Grace's leash.

They hurried up a large staircase, stopping at an ironwood door. Hunter's name was burned into the wood. He threw open the door, slamming the door behind Grace. The leash fell from his hand. He leaned against the door, pressing his forehead against his forearm.

"That perverted man." He snarled.

Grace stared at him, slowly unclipping the leash from her collar. She reached out, brushing her fingertips against his rigid back before enveloping him into a hug, kissing his back.

They stayed there for what felt like hours; Grace hugging his back, Hunter leaning against the door by his forearm. He finally sighed, turning in her arms to wrap his own around her back.

"I'm so sorry Grace, my father is a horrible man."

She nodded, shivering as his lusty gaze penetrated her thoughts. She looked up at him, pulling the shoulder of her shirt away from her skin. He blinked.

"Why now?"

She slipped her hands from his back.

'This is the only thing I could think about to take my mind off of your father. Please...."

He sighed, nodding as he brushed away her hair, lowering his head so his lips skimmed the pale flesh. She drew in a shaky breath, her legs already turning to jelly.

"I'll try and be gentle okay?"

She shook her head.

'Be rough, I don't want to think at all. Especially after your father.'

His lips parted in surprise, sighing and shaking his head.

"Alright, brace yourself."

His fangs pierced her skin.
