I woke up to Tourmaline's stomach growling. "You want to go get some food in the kitchen?" I offered. Yes, though I doubt they have anything that would sustain me. Tourmaline said while getting up. She followed me out of my room. While Tourmaline and I were going to the kitchen, we ran into Loki. "We're getting some food, want to join us?" I asked politely. "I could eat." He answered. Loki closed and vanished the book he was reading and joined us.

"What's it like being a dragon rider?" He asked after a few seconds of uncomfortable silence. "Dragons and their riders have a special bond, it's unbreakable. You also get to ride around on a big creature that can fly and breathe fire." I replied. We got to the kitchen as the Avengers exited the elevator. They all were covered in various levels of grime. The Avengers muttered greetings and trudged off to their rooms. "That mission must've been particularly hard for them," Loki commented as he began setting different ingredients on the counter. I checked the cupboards and fridge. They don't have nearly enough meat or fruit. When was the last time one of them went grocery shopping? I told Tourmaline. They also didn't have to feed a hungry dragon before, Tourmaline pointed out. True. I wish we could go hunting. I mentally sighed. What's stopping us? Tourmaline asked quizzically. Tony- Tourmaline blinked-the guy with the red and gold armor, he put this anklet on me. I think it prevents me from leaving the tower. I explained. So I'm supposed to just starve? Tourmaline asked sassily. Maybe just have a snack? I suggested. Tourmaline exhaled sharply, her version of a sigh, and nodded. I picked up an apple and threw it at her. She snapped it up mid-air.

I looked over to Loki mixing the ingredients in a large bowl. "What are you making?" I asked curiously. "Making pancakes. Do you want some?" Loki poured the mixture onto a large pan. "Sure," I replied. I went over and sat at the table, waiting for them to cook. Slowly the team filtered into the kitchen, drawn to the fragrance of the cooking pancakes. Loki set a plate of the human delicacy in front of me. I dug in, savoring the incredible flavor. "These are delicious!" I said as I held out a pancake for Tourmaline. She snatched it out of my hand. They are very good. Tourmaline agreed. I spent the rest of dinner stuffing my face with pancakes and joining in on the conversations between the Avengers and Loki. It almost felt like I had a home again. But I knew I couldn't completely trust the Avengers, not yet.

I'm sorry for the really short and late chapter! I have been super busy lately. I won't be updating next week because I have finals.

Sorry. :(
