The next couple of days I spent bored out of my skull. Occasionally Tourmaline and I would gather enough strength to chat or one of the members of the team, which I learned was called the Avengers, would visit me. Bruce was currently checking my vitals.

"You're fully healed. Steve has your stuff. He wants to talk to you before you leave." Bruce said. I nodded and swung my legs over the bed. My boots were at the foot of it. My top was ripped from when the wolf scratched me. I stood up and slid the dark purple leather onto my feet. "Where is Steve?" I asked. He told me to follow him.

We walked along the halls of the building. It was strange to be in such a tall human structure that hadn't been grown from a tree. This city's buildings were all hulking masses of steel. Where elf buildings had been built with nature, instead of tearing it down like humans are so fond of. Steve was waiting for us in the entrance hall. Natural sunlit poured in through many glass windows and the occasional houseplant dotted the room. A man in a long black cloak, eyepatch, and a scowl was standing next to Steve. "Thistle! This is Nick Fury." He introduced. Nick Fury nodded curtly. "He wants you to live with us," Steve then added, seeing my expression of surprise and anger, "because he thinks you would be an asset to the team and he wants to keep you under supervision until you prove you're not a threat."

I thought of Tourmaline, desperately trying to keep her up that difficult spell. I thought of what every elven elder has told me since I was a child, Be wary of humans, they could either be friends or foes and with their strange customs, one could never be so sure. "Do I have a choice?" the words tumbled out of my mouth before I could stop myself. "No." Fury said. I would pretend to stay today but then leave tonight. Comforted by my plan, I made eye contact. "Fine." I glowered. Steve smiled. "I'll give you a tour around the tower." I nodded and went to pick up my weapons that were at his feet. "I can carry them," Steve offered. "I can carry them myself," I said harshly and grabbed my weapons. I put the swordbelt and quiver on. It felt nice to have them on again.

We stopped at my room once the tour was over. It was a square room with a bed in the far left corner, a desk, and even it's own private bathroom. I looked at the room in almost disbelief. After two years of being practically homeless, I had a room that belonged to me again. I swatted away that joy though. I wasn't going to stay.

And that concludes another chapter. I know they've been kind of short these past couple weeks but I've been super busy so to keep updating, I kind of take whatever time I can get. Also, I know I said Thistle would meet the rest of the Avengers and Loki but she did meet one and learned the actual name of another. I wasn't able to fit the rest of the stuff I had planned for this chapter in so I might update early or have a double update next week. We'll see.

Thanks for being patient with me!
