Ik I already wrote a Todoroki x reader during the sports festival but I had this idea and It sounded good in my head.
Your POV
"The next fight will be between Todoroki Shoto and (f/n), after this short lunch break." Present mics voice boomed to the crowd. I walked with Todoroki to get food. "Well....we're fighting next. Ummm good luck Todo." I said awkwardly. "Good luck to you to." Todo said and he pat my head. Todo and I have been friends forever almost and we are really close. I gave him a key to my house so he can come over any time he wants when his dad is to much for him.
Time skip
I went into the waiting room thing and nervously bounced my leg. 'What if I hurt him?' I thought to myself. "Ladies and gentlemen welcome back I hope you're ready cause it's time for the fight. We have Todoroki Shoto, his quirk is half hot half cold, he can produce and manipulate both fire and ice. And he is fighting against (f/n). I stepped to the ring. Her quirk is called fire dragon. She has wings and horns like a dragon and she can create fire on any part of her body and she is also immune to flames and heat." I looked at Todo and looked at Midnight. "Are you ready?" She asked. Todo and I both bowed and looked at her when we stood back up. "Fight!" She yelled and the crowd went silent. Todoroki shot ice at me and I flapped my wings causing all his ice to backfire onto himself. Todo started running toward me and he threw a couple of hits a me, and I hit back. Todoroki tried to shoot more ice at me but I flew into the air to dodge it. Todo shot ice chunks at me and one of them hit my wings and the wing ripped and I started to fall.
Todoroki's POV
I shot ice chunks at (y/n) and she started falling. Why is she falling. She started to flail her arms and tried to fly but she couldn't. (Y/n) hit the ground with a loud thud. I stepped to her and looked her in the eyes, she looked scared. (Y/n) all of a sudden bounced up using one of her Kong's and the strength in her legs. I heard a ripping sound and (y/n) started to scream in pain. She fell to her knees and continued to scream and cry. I looked at her back and seen a stub where one of her wings should be. I felt all the color drain from my face when I looked down and seen one of her wings under my foot. In the corner of the wing there was a small rip. 'That's Why she couldn't fly.' I looked back up and seen (y/n) still screaming, her hands were up at her face and she was violently shaking. "(L/n) is to injured she cannot move on, Todoroki wins." Midnight said in a rush and she ran down onto the feild. "GET A STRETCHER RIGHT NOW!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. The whole crowd was silent as paramedics came with a stretcher. They tried to get close to (y/n) but she made the ground around her burst into flames, (y/n) started barring her sharp teeth and trying to slash at people with her claws. (Y/n) slashed at someone but instead she broke the stretcher into pieces. 'I've never seen her this crazy' I thought to myself as I backed away in fear. Midnight ripped her sleeve and gas leaked out putting (y/n) to sleep. All Might came out and he carried (y/n) bridal style out of the stadium. As he was running he turned his head. "Grab her wing!" He yelled. The others rushed to get her wing and they quickly left.
I walked back up to the student area and people started to crowd me. "Hey what happened?" "What did you do?" "Is she gonna be ok?" I was being bombarded with questions. I snapped. "SHUT THE HELL UP!" Everyone backed down and I walked to a corner, sat down, hugged my knees to my chest, and cried. Without realizing it I made an ice wall between me and the class. As I cried and slowly rocked back and forth, trying to calm down. 'What if she isn't ok? What if they can't fix her wings? She probably going to hate me.' I thought to myself as I silently cried.
Time skip after the sports festival
We got two days off then we went back to school.
I sat down in my seat and wait for class to begin. (Y/n) didn't show.
Skip a month
It's been a month and (y/n) isn't back yet. I laid my head down on the desk and sighed. 'I haven't been able to focus in any of my classes and everyone is concerned about me.' I thought to myself. The door opened and I whipped up my head. A lady in a doctors suit came into the room. "Hello eraserhead I am Dr.(r/d/n). I have come to give you these pills. (L/n) has to take these every two hours, they numb her back." Aizawa nodded his head and took the bottle. The lady then turned to us. "Hello ladies and gentlemen. My name is Dr.(r/d/n) I am one of the doctors who helped young (l/n) through her recovery. (L/n) is coming back today, she is out side the door right now, I just came in to tell you a few things. As you saw from the sports festival, (l/n) was and still is very protective over her injury. Please do not touch her back or her shoulders, she will attack you. (L/n) is a little less protective of her injuries however she will still severely harm you. I don't care how strong you are, do not test her. If you have any questions please ask now." She finished her short speech. I was the first to raise my hand. "Yes?" Dr.(r/d/n) addressed me. "Did you guys fix her wings?" I asked in my monotone voice. "Unfortunately we could not fix her wings. We had to completely remove both wings and she has stitches in her back now. Sorry." She said. I felt all the color drain from my face and I clearly stiffened in my seat. "Any other questions?" She asked. "Yes. Can we do anything to help (l/n) in her healing?" Iida asked loudly. "Ummm.. well, (l/n) can't lean her back on anything, so if you see her starts lean back, put your hand on the back of her neck and gently push her back up. Also it took (l/n) about a week to learn to walk normally without her wings, so she's a little wobbly, so please help her walk and don't let her carry things that are to heavy." The doctor said. There were no more questions and the lady opened the door and held out her hand.
(Y/n) slowly stepped into the room. Like (r/d/n) said, her walk was a little wobbly. I looked at (y/n)'s back and sure enough there was nothing there. All that was left were the two holes that her wings would come through. 'Oh god. She loved her wings. She always told me how much she loved flying.' I thought to myself as I was about to cry in guilt again. (Y/n) walked to her seat and sat down. And Aizawa sensei said free time but he told us not to crowd (y/n).
As we went to lunch I sat at the table (y/n) and I always sit at. I didn't expect her to sit with me. I quietly ate my food when I seen a tray get put on the table. I looked up and seen (y/n) sit down next to me. I quickly looked down and continued eating. "Are you ok?" (Y/n) asked and I thought for a second before I answered. "No." I said quietly. I felt her arms around me and I shook her off. "What's wrong?" She asked worried. "What do you mean 'what's wrong'? I hurt you and took something you loved away from you. I feel horrible for it." I said still looking down. "It's o-" I cut her off. "Do t you dare say it's ok cause it's not. You always told me how much you loved your wings and how you loved to fly, you said it made you feel free. Your wings were very helpful in battle and you always relied on them to fly and protect you. You have never screamed and cried like that. You took a bullet for me, you took a stab wound for me, and you took hits from my father for me and not o cue have I ever seen you cry. When you stood up in the fight, you completely broke down in pain, and it's my fault." I finished my rant and all (y/n) did was wrap her arms around me. "Stop beating yourself up about it. I signed up to do those things for you, I signed up to come here, and I never backed down when we had to fight. I knew that as soon as I bowed to you, you wouldn't hold back. I walked into that fight knowing full well whatever happens, happens. I hold no grudge against you, and it's partially my fault cause I didn't pay attention to where you were stepping and I acted in fear. Todo it's ok." (Y/n) finished and I moved my hands up to hold her arms. Tears streamed down my face and I sniffled. "Please don't cry." (Y/n) said as she sat back down and whipped my tears away. "Hey Todo?" I looked at her through tears. "I love you bestie." She said sweetly. "I love you to." I said back and I leaned my head on her shoulder.
